Probably closer to the truth!!

Not considering that Tennessee is a traditional game that is an actual rivalry with a name.
The game has been played in recent times on different dates due to scheduling conflicts, but its still one of our oldest rivalries. Tradition trumps many things, kinda like you guys not wanting to stop playing Oklahoma, its tradition and a rivalry.
You did forget to mention the most vocal proponent of the nine game in conference schedule in the SEC. Who is that lone Coach? Thats right Saban. He wants to play more of the SEC each year, but the other coaches are all against it.
Tennessee game is a rivalry. I do think the permanent rivalry in the SEC is ridiculous. It is basically out there to preserve 2-3 games (Bama/Tenn) and subject the rest of the league to random meaningless rivalries. Just another quirk if 14 team conferences

Yes, but some of those rivalries are long standing and it would be a shame to see them go. Killing tradition for the sake of pleasing the masses is not something I am willing to do and I know many Bama Alums that feel the same way. Tennessee is down as of late(on their way back up hopefully) but they are still one of the top 10 teams in NCAA history in many categories. Many see them for what they are currently and ignore who they have been historically. I dont see anyone asking tOSU to give up Michigan but yet they are cross division rivals and Michigan has not exactly been a powerhouse in recent years, only coming back recently to be above average.
I completely agree. Who would remember Albert Means if Bama and Tenn didnt play? The rivalry should be played, but it is also an unfair system for others. Like I said it is a quirk of a 14 team league. I dont think there is a fair way to balance out both sides of tge argument
Kinda like to poke the bear dont you. Cant just talk football, gotta go for a vein or soft spot even though the other side is not doing so. I dont pretend to tell you who Texas's rivals are and would not do so because that is their teams rivals. Personally I dont get that your team seems scared of A&M recently and wont play them, but instead chooses to play Oklahoma every year. In state rivals and long standing rivals are important to some teams(no matter the circumstances involved in one small period).
I know alot about that situation and the NCAA was wrong for coming down on Alabama as hard as they did and the man behind it all(a booster) never paid his price for what he did. And Albert means is now a teacher/coach in Tennessee and says he never saw a dime of the money.
Actually Texas has said they are open recently. Means was just a joke, but that is a major reason Bama fans hate Tenn and Fulmer. Pt was it is important gor Tenn and Bama fans and a royal pain in the ass for LSU, but I do not have a solution for it
See, thats a perception thing, you think you see one thing, but its an optical illusion really. What you see is not always what you get and in this case, you know very little about who your dealing with in reality. You cannot judge me by a few lines on here and if you think thats possible, then I weep for you.
So what you are saying is that when I see you defending Saban on basically everything he does its not really you defending him.
Its just an illusion.
Okay.
For the sake of argument, what haven't you defended him on?
Our 3 biggest rivals over the years are Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Texas A&M. 2 out of 3 left the conference we played them in for decades for whatever reasons I don't feel like arguing about. So are we now supposed to tie down 2 out of our 3 OOC games every single year to play them? Just because they are rivals? Nah, changing conferences changes things. I don't mind playing one OOC rivalry game a year. But that's enough! There was a time Arkansas was our biggest rivalry game every year. Nobody cares about that anymore and they won't care about A&M anymore the longer we go without playing them. Things change. In 10 years most people will believe A&M was always an SEC team just like most act like South Carolina was always an SEC team and Georgia Tech is completely forgotten to be a former SEC power and one of Auburn's biggest former rivalries. The way today's game is going it is hard to keep more than 1 rivalry game going unless it is a team in your division. Especially in these huge conferences that are forming.

Auburn vs Georgia is the Deep South's oldest rivalry and one of the oldest in the country it's been played 117 times. You don't throw something away that has been going on for over a 100 years and is relevant.
Do you understand the difference between a person defending someone and a person defending a persons right to say something. I have stated that I am not in favor of this rule about 10 million times(being facetious) yet you see it as me defending Saban. I am defending his right to have an opinion and divulge that opinion if he is asked a question on the subject. I also will defend his stance because we have clowns on here who still feel the need to skew the facts of what was said or believe what they want to believe even though its in black and white and reported as coming out of his mouth. There is a difference between the two and you clearly dont get it still.
That was the other game I was thinking about. You have that side of the coin and than you have LSU having to play Florida. Mizzu and A&M play. South Carolina gets Ark. Hardly fair to LSU and Florida that they have to go at it, while their division foes get traditional scrubs. Like I said it is a problem that arises in big leagues, that I do not think there is a fair solution for.Auburn vs Georgia is the Deep South's oldest rivalry and one of the oldest in the country it's been played 117 times. You have done more than defend his right to speak his opinion. You have stated that he had a point regarding player safety even though that the only thing he cares about regarding player safety is when it limits NHUO. He hasn't spoken out about any other area that could reduce player safety, like No playoff, less games, less time for games which is all hypocritical and is pretty transparent.

The fair solution would be to rearranged the divisions so that these traditional rivalries aren't cross-divisional games.
Geographical concerns don't matter as Mizzou is in the east.![]()
