Put this at the bottom of the other thread, but figured I'd put it in a new one. Let's see where this goes. Now Murray visiting makes a lot more sense for Philly. I think he probably signs with Philly today.

Bet you are right! I don't think JJ ever had intentions of paying him more than 5M per and he may know something I don't. If Murray was willing to seek out Chip Kelly and offer his services, his comments about wanting to stay a Cowboy were just talk. If he wants to go to Philly to play with Bradford his college roommate, then I hope he's disappointed if the Eagles try and flip Bradford to go after MM or he blows out another knee and he's taking handoffs from "butt fumble".

Anybody else really think this is dirty of murray? It's much different than hatcher going to the skins. I bet murray gets injured wherever he ends up, even if he ends up coming back to dallas. Normally when players are not loyal to jerrah they do not return. Its a good bet dallas does not increase its offer and cowboys will draft a running back early in the draft

Jerry will let him walk for sure now, you don't cross him. He will be in his office stabbing his Murray voodoo doll in the knee.

I still think they wait to take a RB in the 3rd round probably

Ryan Mathews agreed to a deal with PHIL, he did not sign a deal. Question will be whether he signs if and when Eagles sign DeMarco Murray.

Report: DeMarco Murray intends to sign with the Eagles

Free agent running back DeMarco Murray is flying to Philadelphia Thursday morning with the intent to sign with the Eagles, Adam Schefter of ESPN reports. However, he would still be open to a last-minute offer from the Cowboys before he makes his final decision.

A report from Charles Robinson of Yahoo! Sports surfaced on Wednesday that Dallas offered Murray approximately $5 million annually, which prompted the reigning NFL rushing leader to remove Dallas references from his Twitter account.

The Raiders and Jaguars have also shown interest in Murray, but according to Schefter, the Eagles are most appealing to Murray because of his belief in their chance to win a Super Bowl. According to Geoff Mosher of Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia, Ryan Mathews has not signed his deal with the Eagles, which could make the Murray signing even more intriguing.

Murray ran for league-high 1,845 yards on 392 carries and 13 touchdowns, adding 57 receptions for 416 yards in the passing game.

If Murray agreed to a deal with the Eagles, he'd reunite with his former Oklahoma teammate Sam Bradford, the former No. 1 overall pick by the Rams in the 2010 draft. The Eagles traded Nick Foles for Bradford on Tuesday.

Hey Demarco, the Cowboys were a bad result of a rule and a game away from the SB and the shit Chip has going on in Philly is ridiculous. You aren't winning a SB in Philly, they don't have any other real weapons on offense anymore and you are gonna be hurt again with less protection, but go ahead haul ass, have fun.

I think Murray felt like a $5M per year offer was a big FU from the Cowboys, so no it's no dirty. We are free to talk to other RBs and he is free to talk to other teams. There is no way Murray spoke to Kelly before his agent did. Maybe Kelly didn't believe Murray would really sign so Murray followed up with a call to say he would. No secret how highly I think of Murray and don't forget that Philly has a good OL too. I think he will put up good numbers and be well worth what it seems they are paying him. I think they will be very happy with him. But, going from Romo and our receivers to Bradford and theirs will leave a mark on his numbers and more bruises on his injury prone body.

I think solely in the running game Murray is a good fit for Philly. He won't dance around like McCoy and look for huge gains. Where he doesn't fit is in the passing game and the creative aspect of the offense. Very good blocker and good receiver, but he can't run those sprint out patterns that Philly killed us with by using D Jax and Sproles/McCoy on opposite sides and doesn't have the quickness of McCoy/Sproles. He is more of a true dump off, screen type of receiver. But, since they have Sproles too, I'm sure they can make it work.

I'm still not too worried about Philly because I don't like Bradford and I don't like their receivers and I don't think Maxwell is anywhere near an $11M player. But, the offseason isn't yet over.

Good luck to him running behind Sanchez or Bradford. He'll be lucky to get half the yards he got last year.

Doubt it, I think they try and go all in on Murray to keep him from the Cowboys and he's gonna take whatever they offer above 5M after JJ only offered 5M and pissed him off again. Mathews offer will very likely be on hold until after the Murray meeting and then it will be pulled off the table, I mean why blow another 4M on another RB

The SB reference is likely comparing Philly to Oak, Jax and TB (the other interested teams) not Dallas.

If we are only offering him $5M, how can you expect him to stay? This is his one chance to make big money. If someone else offered you like $10M more over the next 5 years would you stay at your current job?

I agree with this. I figured the Cowboys were offering $6 million originally, were up to $7 million the other night with a cut off point of $8 million. If I am Murray, and I see guys like AP and Lynch making $10 million plus, and I make it clear I would stay in Dallas for the $8 million per that McCoy just signed, a $5 million at this offer is an insult. To be honest, I don't blame him for calling the Cowboys rival, and I think he is probably licking his chops at running against the Cowboys D a couple of times a year.
This is nearly as frustrating as the Randy Moss draft where we took Ellis instead. The player you need is right there, he wants to play for you, and you just let him slide. A move the Cowboys will regret IMO

hasn't it been reported Oakland is offering the most cash?
Seems to me that's where he'd go

I got the SB reference was probably comparing the other teams chances vs Philly's chances. Just offering my opinion that a SB would be more likely with Dallas than Philly in the nearest future.

It will depend on the actual money he gets ultimately but you're right i wouldn't blame him for taking the difference in 10M more over the terms, if thats what he was offered. I think at 5M per JJ lowballed the shit out of him and Id be pissed and go play elsewhere myself. That doesnt mean I am happy about him going, regardless of the reason he would leave.

I don't think it's dirty at all he's a FA and has the opportunity to further his career financially I can't understand why so many fans get so bent out of shape from players seeking out finical security. Teams cut players all the time it's not personal usually, it's just business. If the Eagles are the team that's offering him the deal he wants so be it. The only players I have a problem with or guys like Rivas who sign 5 yr deals and 2 seasons into the deal he decides he's worth more and holds out. Murray going to a rival doesn't bother me much because he's not accomplished enough for me to see him as a Cowboy for life type player.

Ive thought he would be gone the last few days since Jerry wasn't going to make him a fair market offer. It reminds me of the Hamilton FA with the Rangers where they knew someone would overpay and they just let it happen. In no means did I want Josh to stay(thats a totally different deal) but Murray is different. I think if he was offered 7-8 million from the jump he would have been a Cowboy next season. I just don't like the go out and see what you can get and come back to me approach.
