He's Dustin Brown East: a typical 3rd liner that gets enough ice time to put up 2nd line stats. He's an energy player on a team composed of 75% energy players. I don't see it as a big deal.

He had 48 points in 60 games this year. At that rate, if he'd been playing for the Flyers (and not missed any games), he'd be right behind Carter at 3rd on the team in points. It's significant.

Except he plays nearly 20 minutes a night. The only Flyer who gets over 19 minutes a night is Giroux, and only him, Richards, Carter, and Briere get over 17 a night. Callahan's PROD is somewhere between Leino and van Riemsdyk. Like I said, he gets so much ice time, he can put up 2nd line stats.

It'll damage the Rags, so I'm cool with it...

He's also a force on their PK it will affect them no doubt....plus its not like the rags score goals at will they need everything they can get.

Rick Nash. Phil Kessel. Joe Thorton. All of those folks get about 19:30 average ice time. They are all also at about the same points per game as Callahan is. I'm not saying the guy is freaking Crosby, Ander. I'm saying that when you lose a guy who is responsible for one NINTH of their forwards' ice time and has had a hand in one FOURTH of their goals, that's not something they can just hand wave away.
