But can he throw the 1 yard slant this year?

He threw it well enough last year. I don't know why you Pats fans don't want to take the opportunity to brag up one of your own instead of going after Wilson. You guys should be talking about what a great play Butler made, not that it was a bad throw. That throw was actually right on the money, but between Lockett short arming it and Butler's great read it became a pick. Give Butler all the credit in the world. He was the hero for sure.

I think all his swordsmanship is reserved for daydreams about the neckbeard.
What, are you saying that we have two guys on Sporthoopla, that like to cross their swords?

Are you saying that is the reason the Pats won the Super Bowl last year?

Absolutely. Wilson lost to an inferior team by throwing to his worst skill position play with the game on the line...and it wasn't evne a good throw.

Wasn't a good throw? That ball is going to hit Lockett right in the chest if Butler doesn't jump it.

Don't bother going down that road with Q specifically. Waste of time.

Why is it always about glorifying Russell Wilson with you? Can't you make threads about some other quarterbacks? Maybe one from the northeast who's very handsome?
One out of every 50 ain't bad

You really want to debate if that was a "good throw"? Man, the apologists for Wilson in Seattle are amazing.

Yeah, im a big Russ Wilson fan, and there was nothing at all "good" from a Seattle perspective......The call, the intended target, the throw, the decision to make the throw.....Nothing good

So everything was bad about the play and yet it was a split second away from winning the game?

Why would you throw to your worst player, on a bad route for the area, with a QB who's strength isn't that throw with zero threat of a run out of the play formation?

It was astounding how little criticism he got after that game. The media loves the guy. Carroll took the brunt of it, which was totally unfair. The play call is fine (hindsight is 20/20) and simply required your QB not to make an infinitely horrifying decision....something a coach should be able to rely on in the Super Bowl.

Fair enough. I guess "every" QB can make a bad throw now and then. Hell even a QB like Brady, has thrown some bad passes in his career.

To be fair to wilson, that's not his strength. It's like Brady having to win by throwing the ball more than 5 yards. Or telling Cam not to run from the 1 yard line.

It wasn't the best play for the player based on his ability.

Yes, you can't fight the truth.
