Realistically the Seahawks will pay Wilson $57M for 3 years, (2015 - 2017), then make a $15.5M decision going into 2018. That they paid $31M up front is their choice. It means they can spread it out for cap purposes and it keeps Wilson trade worthy if things break down between him and the team. Considering what Wilson brought to the team in his 1st 3 years it's a good deal that kept their window of opportunity open.If you think there is no doubt he is worth 12 million then do you also think he is worth 31 million? Thats what he made this year.
