Cool. As I said, I don't really care one way or the other. It just sounded odd that you got onto him for using 4th qtr stats for all the games, but you used padded stats from all the games. I wasn't sure what the stats looked like any more in depth than that. I'm picking Luck for now due to hype and the fact that Wisconsin lost 2 big games.

Your whole premise is that Wilson's play in the fourth has cost his team wins. I posted stats from his two losses and described the incompletions. The fact show that Wilson has accounted for more TDs (4) than bad throws (2) in the fourth in his losses. He also put his team in position for the win, and he never needed the refs to do it. Penalizing Russell (the guy who led his team to the lead against OSU and tied the game against MSU) for his secondary and special teams blowing games is a logical fallicy if the goal is to reward the best player.

Ergo, you are reaching.

His whole premise is that Wilson's fourth quarter play is less than HIS average for the whole season. Not that it cost his team the win. He was refuting the fact you called him a clutch player when that means that a clutch players does BETTER in the last minutes of the game. Not once did he say it was Wilson's fault and not once did he say Wilson should be penalized for what you say is the rest of the team blowing the game.

Also, if the Heismen was actually about the best player/leader/team worker in college football, it wouldn't be narrowed down to QB's and RB's.

No credit to the opposition? I guess the same can be said for them. If their D's hadn't "folded like a cheap tent", Wilson wouldn't have had a prayer in either game.

Your defense and Michigan State's didn't fold at the end of the game, they got beat by solid play. I wouldn't say our defense "folded" on every one of your scores, but that last 40 yard touchdown pass was a total breakdown in coverage. There's a difference between giving up points because the offense makes a better play or throws a perfect ball, and giving up points because the defenders are way out of position and just screwed up.

So it sounds like the Badgers gave the win to MSU and tOSU. Sounds about right for a sore loser.
I would say Buckeye defenders were out of position on both of your 4th quarter TD's. We also gave you a gift with the fumbled punt. It goes both ways Apple.

Russell Wilson is now over 200 in passing efficiency again (current record is 186). He has 25 TDs to 3 Interceptions, is completing 73.4% of passes, still has 11.1 YPA (tied with the all-time record). His teams only losses saw him scoring the highest amount of offensive points against both teams and he led game winning/tying drives in both.

If Andrew Luck loses tonight, Russell has to beack in the thick of the Heisman race, right?

Russell Wilson is having a better season, IMO. He probably can't win because of the 2 losses, but should be a finalist (and I think will be if Wisconsin wins the B1G and goes to the Rose Bowl).

Have you watched the guy play? He should have been 17/17 yesterday with 200+ yards and 3TDs. Toon dropped a pass that hit him in the hands at the end which prevented the perfect game. And he can stretch the field vertically, Luck just throws mostly short passes to TEs or possession WRs.

Here's the deal, IMO.

Russell Wilson won't win the Heisman, because his team has two losses. That's just how it works these days. If Wisconsin wins out (including the B1G championship game for a berth in the Rose Bowl), he should be a finalist.

But, he has played well enough to be one of the top choices if his team was undefeated or even had one loss, and not only that, but he has played well enough personally for that to be the case. But for a couple of special teams miscues or failure of prevent defense in each of Wisconsin's two losses, he might be the favorite right now.

He is a great quarterback. I think he's gone well beyond what what he needed to do, and that's prove that he can be a pro-style passer. He's got touch, and once in a while he'll throw a laser. He's the best quarterback in college football, and he may not get that honor either, but that's okay. The Heisman is nothing but media garbage now anyway.

Here's what you guys don't get. RG3 can say the EXACT SAME THING. And his numbers are better than Wilsons.......and he doesn't have ANY weapons on his team. It's him......and that's it. Baylor doesn't have any other decent player on either side of the ball.

I know you guys love Wilson.....but he's not the best QB in the nation, and he's not going to win the Heisman, nor should he. He'll get his on draft day, be satisfied with that. RG3 may not even get that.

But they aren't. He has less YPA by a lot, and the rest of their numbers are pretty much identical when adjusted for throws (with Russell having the slight edge). Russell extends plays better than Griffin and he has played better defensive opposition. Griffin's played one decent defense all year (OK State), and bombed with a 136 QB Rating. Wilson's played three defenses better than them (OSU, MSU, Nebraska), and put up a 175 Rating. There is simply no argument for Griffin being better statistically.

You forgot to adjust for the fact Wilson has TEAMMATES worth a damn and Griffin plays for BAYLOR. Can you name another player on his team without looking it up?

Seriously, Griffin does it with ZERO help. The fact he's even in the ballpark is amazing in and of itself. Do you think his numbers would be better with Wisconsin's talent?

that his first argument in OP about passer rating is pointless in college, and that his numbers look more like a game manager that lets the rb's do the work which isnt far from the truth wisky is a run team, but i think he is a good qb but not heisman worthy....that is my opinion

I'm not sure where you get the idea that Russell Wilson is a game manager. He has the highest YPA in college football history. That isn't something a game manager does. The reason Wilson's numbers are so low is that we don't pass when we are up big in the second half (every game but 2). If you multiply out his raw first half numbers, they are on par with everyone.

I don't understand why people consider this to be a big issue. Andrew Luck has the exact same thing, as does Kellen Moore. Wilson has more total yards than Moore and is about 100 behind Luck. Luck is still considered the favorite, and Moore would be if he hadn't played a sub-par game in a loss this week. Why is this an in issue for Russell but not those two?
