Gotcha. Same here. Unfortunately for Ridley, he plays for a coach who would rather he get stapled to the end of the bench when he fumbles one time. RB's fumble. Especially early in their careers. Kevin Faulk was a big-time fumbler and got better. So did Tiki Barber. Walter Payton was a goddam fumbling machine early in his career. Hell, even Law Firm, forever revered by Pats fans for never fumbling when he played here, put the ball on the ground 5 times the last two years. It's obviously never a good thing when it happens, but the idea that fumbling is somehow a uniquely Stevan Ridley problem is absurd.

It's not that we think it is unique to Ridley, we just want him to be better.
My biggest memory of a Ridley fumble is him rolling over and planting his face in the sod without ever looking for the ball or attempting to recover it.
Turn over.
It went from bad to worse.

I looked for almost a half an hour. I cannot find a video of it, nor do I remember the team.
But I do remember Ridley lost control of the ball as he went down and he never even looked for it.
He just pounded the ground with his fists as the other team scooped it up.

That's not how the Week 1 vs. Buffalo play went down. Try again.

Wait...are you referring to the first one that was ruled down by contact, or the one that was returned for the TD? (I'm assuming the latter by the use of "turn over" in the earlier post, but it may well be the first one went down the way you say, I don't know...because the second definitely didn't go that way)

ok heres my problem with this thread.. someone compared Ridley with APstating that AP had more fumbles... where as yes.. he had one more fumble..lets look at the real numbers...

Ridley had 178 attempts and had 4 fumbles.. that's a fumbleevery 44.5 carries or 2.2% of the time

RK PLAYER TEAM ATT YDS YDS/A LONG 20+ TD YDS/G FUM 1DN

21 C.J. Spiller, RB BUF 202 933 4.6 77 9 2 62.2 4 26

22 DeAngelo Williams, RB CAR 201 843 4.2 43 6 3 56.2 1 35

23 Chris Ivory, RB NYJ 182 833 4.6 69 8 3 55.5 2 34

24 Ben Tate, RB HOU 181 771 4.3 60 3 4 55.1 4 33

25 Stevan Ridley, RB NE 178 773 4.3 29 3 7 55.2 3 39

26 Lamar Miller, RB MIA 177 709 4.0 49 4 2 44.3 1 26

30 Rashad Jennings, RB OAK 163 733 4.5 80 4 6 48.9 0 34

Heres a list of players that are around Ridley’s productionat least for attempts.. now.. converse..

out of this group of 10 which is the closest to his attempts ... Ridley is 4th in rushing yards / 5th in attempts / 2nd in touchdowns / 7th in fumbles

He's a fumbler.
He should not be a fumbler. How does he stack up against Lawrence Maroney?
Maroney was a dancer and fragile, but he wasn't a fumbler.

And Maroney sucked. He lost yards.

Thus the only two subjects achieving a full consensus here at the Hoop are Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Watson.

I put Ridley in the what-have-you-ever-really-done category along with dearly departed Mallett.

C'mon maroney got 25 yds a carry it's not his fault the nfl only counts the yards AFTER the line of scrimmage
