Royals are at 18 Defensive Runs Saved ... no other team in MLB has more than 9

This is no surprise to people who watched them last season. They have a lot of nice pieces and that bullpen already was the best in MLB.

I agree

If teams like the Royals and Rays can trade Wil Myers, a big market team like Boston can move Swihart

Yeah, but Wil Myers sucks. Everyone seems to think Swihart is the best catching prospect in MLB. All that said, the Red Sox will address the pitching at some point. I think they would call up Owens or Rodriguez first to try and fix it. I don't think they want Hamels all that much. They certainly don't want to give up top prospects AND $100m for him. That is for sure.

At the time, he was one of the best young bats in the minors
Nobody thought he sucked until last season.

Same thing could happen to Swihart. A lot of prospects never have higher value than they do when they are in the minors

But you got to see him make a great catch over and over last night. MLB Network showed Jeters catch almost as many times as they showed Arenados.

I didnt watch mlb network last night. Had no idea Arenado did the same thing either. I'm sure I'll see it again tonight

seriously, Myers was the Minor League Player of the Year, Swihart wouldn't be top 20

Only criticism I can recall of him in the minors was a high K rate. Oh, and a few whiners about him not sticking at catcher.

Oh, I agree 100%. Especially after seeing so many Sox stiffs wash-out over the years. But....if they are going to trade Swihart, they are going to want a young phenom in return. They have no interest in giving him up for a guy like Hamels who is expensive and probably a declining asset.

Minor League Player of the Year? So were Delmon Young & Rocco Baldelli. You don't have to defend Myers anymore. He's a stiff.

Right

Myers was a badass and he still can be

he has never played 90 games in a season and still won a ROY

Myers won ROY in a particularly down year. Even then there are a ton of stiffs who also won ROY over the years. Royals fans might remember Bob Hamelin, perhaps? Myers is a league-average bat who plays terrible defense. That's why they Rays were happy to ship him out.
