Look man, all arrows point to Montgomery being a stud. More athletic than Howard, and more versatile. But he hasn't played a down, and that doesn't even include the facts of Howard still having a year left on his contract and whatever successes he's already had, debatable or not.

We ditched a successful position for a potentially very successful position. Lateral move at this point, dipshit. It's a wash. Arguably wasted draft pick,(tho i do think he's going to be stud, as aforementioned.)

No, it's neither an upgrade or a downgrade until it's proven what he can, or can't, do on the field versus what Howard could do.

It has potential is be an upgrade because his style of play fits the offense where Howard's didn't. And Montgomery probably has a lot more upside than Howard.

But it's not an upgrade until he actually plays and proves something.
