Doesn't change the answer. Why would he take a massive cut in pay and not control where he goes? Why would a team give up draft picks for what can be had in free agency?
He's not a free agent until 2017 so where he goes is out of his hands until then. Reworking a contract happens all of the time in the NFL and there are teams that would be willing to accept dead cap money in future years in exchange for the guy who helps take them to a title now......that is why I keep focusing on the Patriots. A guy like Garcon in Brady's last few years strenghtens them. Washington in the meantime WILL be getting bigger at the position. The only question is what sort of value is DC going to get if an effort is made not to just let him go into FA via his release.
