people tend to forget that the Ravens don't really want to give Lamar away. It will take at least 3 first round picks and probably more for a 27 year old MVP with his ability. Then again, the Ravens have the first right of refusal on any offer that anyone makes him. The Jets are not a favorite team that anyone wants to make better.
Maybe jets trade down to make that a low end first round pick. Move down in 1st, get a second this year and another first next year. Then they offer Jackson a fully guaranteed contract that owners don't want in place especially the Ravens and the Ravens will refuse to match and all the jets have to give up is 2 1sts max because of the tag the Ravens gave Lamar.

The system requirements for the tag they used is 2 firsts, right?

Here's the latest from NewsNow

Packers are really being dicks on this now. I get it from the GMs side he really needs resources to make up for the loss in value at the QB position. But there's no hurry on the Jets side. When the Jets get on the clock at 13 the Packers are screwed.

It's all in how you view it. At 13 the jests don't have any chance at an immediate starter that will get them to the playoffs. Rogers can't guarantee that either, but he's their best shot. They are trying to force the packers to give him up for two seconds. One in 2024 and the other in 2025. The pack told them to take a FF. The Jets came back a 2023 and a 2024 2nd round offer and the pack flat out said no. The Jets GM says outright that they aren't giving the Packers #13. Then they turn around and want a guarantee from the pack that they get their picks back if Rogers doesn't make it to 2025. Pretty simple. Jets ain't going to get Rogers, for what they expect from the Packers.

Don't be too surprised if the Colts or the 49ers end up as the new Rogers' abode.

I'll be very surprised if the Niners trade for Rodgers.

You gotta start with the Niners not having a 1st or 2nd rd pick this year. IF the Pack are unhappy with what the Jets are offering, I think they'll be even more unhappy with what the Niners would offer. And they're unlikely to start trading away 2024 draft picks when they're finally gonna get to use a 1st rounder again.

Then there are the issues of the cap. AR's deal is very high and the Niners have very little cap space at a time when Bosa is due for a big extension.

If the Packers are being that unreasonable then they won't get a deal done with the Colts or Niners either.

The Jets desire to give future picks is reasonable. They want to max their resources into the Rodgers window.

Typically deals of this stature will have clauses about how much the guy plays.

This is all on the jets for rushing out to grant Rodgers Christmas list before he's even traded. They have a coach/GM on a hot seat to get this team to the playoffs and with pick 1.13 and no Rodgers, panic will set in and force them to give what the Packers want. Packers are in no rush as they have their starting QB.

It was free agency. If you wait you miss everyone. What are you even trying to say with that statement? It's crazy.

The Packers are the ones with a player they have no intention of using. You must have been swayed by the Packers media blitz.:noidea:

It would have to be a post draft offer (if the Jets stalemate lasts that long).

Meh all the Jets have to do is wait and if GB is not reasonable on compensation just move ahead and do the best you can with what is available. Play this season out and draft a QB or sign a journey an in the off season and draft a QB. The Jets would be better off without the drama the Rodgers brings anyway IMO

The Jets can compete right now though. Their roster is too loaded to waste time.

Rodgers can make the Packers very uncomfortable - but
They can just let him play. If he refuses they can suspend him. They have a contract.
Green bay fans likely are fed up with Rodgers and will blame him for whatever happens......

Or they can sit his butt on the bench and play Love no matter what Rodgers thinks.
