Word.

That album is fucking great.

Reminds me of a childhood friend named Ann and a summers worth of pool parties at her house.

Divorced parents...Her mom worked during the day:nod:

Here's a sketch JD drew to remind himself of those good times with Ann:

I didn't inherit it, I just can appreciate it because of certain memories it brings back.

To me, that's what music is all about...having good times in the moment and remembering the good times from the past.

But, would you say that you had someone to help share music with you and help shape your musical taste? That is what I was really going for with my post.

Heard "English Civil War" a little while ago, and was immediately back in 1988 going to a girl's house to drink beer all night.

I was fortunate to have an older brother who introduced me to a lot of stuff when I was young. Clapton, Dire Straits...our tastes have grown apart...but a highlight moment in my life...1985, Master of Puppets came out...I still own the tape I stole from him....:yahoo:

This is what I was looking for, just assuming that to be the norm.

Big shock. I am far from the norm. Again.

Still get goosebumps when I hear the bell on For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Blackened roar, massive roar fills the crumbling sky.
Shattered goal fills his soul with a ruthless cry.

It'll never get old.

I guess, but I honestly don't have any particular "taste"

You should check out my iphone. It's literally a potpourri of anything and everything.

And, thanks to Google, I know that now to be The Clash. I will guess I missed that one on the Greatest Hits, as I was hitting skip & looking for Rock the catbox, I mean, the casbah.

I could be wrong, but it then sounds like you had several people to turn to for music, and, in turn, you liked most of it.

Nothing wrong with that at all, to be so open minded. I just never got that far myself. For me, if you can't track a band or musician and their style of play back to the "white boy blues" of the early 60's, then it is probably not my bag......baby.

Stiffened wounds test their pride"

Best lyrics Hetfield ever wrote....

I don't know if I'd call it being open minded, I just see music I think the way it should be.

To be stuck in a rut with it makes you miss out on good shit and good times.
