A lot of teams would have packed it in being down two goals in the third period against a hot goalie.

The officiating was not good, but it's not the reason the Flames lost last night. The Avs best players are outplaying their counterparts on the Flames by a wide margin. Additionally, the foot soldiers for the Avs have also been better. Flames had a 2-0 lead halfway through the 3rd period and couldn't close it out. Mike Smith has been fantastic, probably the only reason this wasn't a four game sweep for Colorado.
