Flames will do anything to avoid giving the Kings that conditional 4th round pick

Lol, no shit James. I want to be a top 6 guy on an NHL team too. And just like with you, I doubt it is going to happen.

Albeit his chances of regaining his form are probably a bit higher than mine.

Do you think he can have a bounce back year Dash?

I just don't know, he was pretty terrible the entire season and I know he's not the best skater, but I didn't realize how slow he was until I watched him closely this past year. At this point, I'm hoping for another round of compliance buyouts in the next CBA because I don't think anybody would want him unless you're having trouble reaching the cap floor. Somebody did the math and to buy Neal out will be a 1.9 million cap hit for the next 8 years if they did it this summer. I don't think that's going to fly with ownership in any event. Give him a chance to bounce back for a terrible season is what likely is going to happen.

8 years is a tough pill to swallow. He’s a talented guy so I could see him contributing, just maybe not at a top line level.

The speed issue is tough to overcome. You don’t want him slowing down a line that plays fast. I think he could be a productive top/bottom six tweener with a bit of power play time.

31 isn’t that old (the more I age the more that number moves, lol), maybe this disappointing season will light a fire under him.
