If I remember correctly, he quit basketball (prompted by a contract dispute) to play pro-volleyball for a San Diego team in a newly formed pro volleyball league around 1974.

The guy just dominated the game throughout the 60's. But he was probably the worst free throw shooter of all time though. That's most likely why he seemed to disappear in the playoffs. Just foul Wilt and make him shoot from the foul line.

Wilt always said he loved volleyball but just played basketball for women and money, which goes along with his thinking that it all revolved around him. Why play a team sport when you can play one with only a partner in which you dominate all the time. My Dad said he's never seen anything like Wilt spiking a volleyball. Would you want to be defending the net against Wilt?

The only reason Bill Russell is on anyone's list is the rings. And I understand that but Karl Malone would humiliate Bill Russell on a basketball court. The Mailman with Magic would be unstoppable.
