13-5 Jays win. 11 Wins in a row.

You guys just hammered a nail into the coffin of Freddy's big league career I'm afraid. He can't afford to be rocked again. I want him to do good so the Padres have a legit shot at picking up Arrieta.

Done, he's yours! :suds:

He's a good teammate and you can't say enough about his attitude, work ethic and professionalism but the value is just not there. I'm sure he'd benefit from DHing though.

I say that with admitted ignorance of the padres. If they have someone the rangers could benefit from I'm sure Texas will be on the phone.

Tell your GM we have a swell closer named Huston Street you can have for peanuts and crackerjacks.

No thanks. We've already got a couple relievers we can't trust with the baseball.

I know you guys are excited. Can you keep it up? Is Josh Johnson ever going to be dominant again?

Dammit! You sure??? :hope:

Handing Street the ball with anything less than a two-run lead and I'm on the phone to Vegas asking for odds on a blown save. Oh if only we could give the money we're paying Quentin and Street to a dominant starting pitcher! Or if we could have just gotten Porcello when he was on the block! We'd be leading the division by 3 games right now.

I think they can play well enough to be a contender for a playoff spot yes.

The team you are seeing now is closer then what started the season.

Starters are pitching good enough to help the team win and the bullpen is just lights out.

Reyes back this week.

What do you think?

Porcello kind of has a Jekyll and Hyde thing going on. I think Texas talked to Detroit about him, but they were asking too much. Glad we didn't bite now.

Frankly, as far as bats go I want Texas to be taking a hard look at Schierholtz.

Not trying to talk shit, I honestly don't think their starting pitching is good enough to hold up. That's just how I see it.

Realistically I don't see a single reason why you don't have a very serious shot at contending. But like the Padres, your start to the season is going to haunt you in September.

I was willing to make a move on Porcello and thought the Padres made a more-than-honest offer for him but hats off to Detroit for doing the smart thing and sitting on him. You have to understand that our Opening Day pitcher has an 8 ERA. They're talking about moving Volquez (not soon enough) and we have plenty of financial wiggle room. There is excitement in San Diego to win the division and if ownership doesn't respond, there will be some disillusioned fans to say the least.

If Josh Johnson can finish the season with a sub-4 ERA and 125 innings, I say the rest are good enough to get them into the postseason with this division this year, especially if they go get somebody.
