I used to like Roberto but then today I heard the always smart and objective PJ Stock on NHL radio today and he told me Roberto hasn't always handled himself well.

I think he was referring to his testicles

puck says he's happy with the return, but I feel compelled to point out that unless I've messed this up, the Canucks traded Cory Schneider and Roberto Luongo for Bo Horvat, Jacob Markstrom and Shawn Matthias (and retained money to make the Luongo trade earlier today).

/Something tells me if a Flames GM pulled off this type of asset management, you guys would be having a heyday.

If Jacob Markstrom develops into a strong number one like people have thought he would and Bo Horvat ends up being a leader on that team who can come up big for them in games, that's not a bad trade-off - it does give them some salary relief - but the way they handled the whole thing was just so sideways that I don't think people even care about what they got in return, but more importantly how all of that was handled - none of what they did made any sense

I thought they should have gotten MUCH more for Schneider.

this trade today... given that the market was dead so recently... was good return.
I would have preferred Bjugstad, but that's just being greedy.

Roberto Luongo Introduced as Panthers Goaltender ?

“It feels good to feel wanted from an organization,” Luongo said of being the Panthers’ number one goalie. ” You just want to have that peace of mind that no matter what happens out there you know you’re going to have the next game. You don’t have to worry about that stuff and can just keep playing.”

He seems to like the stability and consistency of being able to play. Torts did not do that this year with him.

lmao ... because Vigneault DID give him the consistency and stability of being able to play for the 2 years prior ?????? :L

Nope, he didn't either. I was just referring to this season and most recently. At least in Florida he doesn't have to worry about another good goalie behind him taking his starts.

i think the biggest thing for Luongo is he can just go play, go walk over to get pizza, go lay on the beach ... no one will bother him because no one will know who he is
