the lack of a patriots run game against good defenses is a good point, but lets be honest the Patriots play calling at times tends to abandon the run almost all together.

Ridley finished 7th in total yards last year with 1263 yards and 4.4 YPC he had 12 rusing TDs tied for 3rd with Adrian Peterson and four fumbles which has him tied with a slew of other players. These are hardly stats that justifying cutting a guy.

This boils down to one of two things, 1 you are a trolls or 2. you know nothing about the game. Seems either way I am wasting my time with your sill irrational ass. I am done with you I will let those that for some reason like to argue with trolls have it out with you.

i am going to say it again, most of ridleys yards were against bad teams that couldnt stop any rb,this year 9 carries 46yds 2 fumbles, his 4 fumbleswere lost how many reviews did he have just to see if he fumbled or not.HE CANNOT HOLD ON TO THE BALL,obviously the coaching staff saw something because he was benched

You fumble the ball in BB's system and you get benched.... What is there "not to see?"

where are you getting 2 fumbles? and you are saying he sucks this year because he has 46 yards... yet you go on and on about him being benched... OBVIOUSLY if he only plays 5 minutes he won't get that many yards

God I hope this isn't M, I think he drifted to the other board after the ESPN closure, it had more trolls which he seemed to have a love affair with.

He is a fumbler.
Short and sweet.

Brady does not get benched because he is one of the best EVER at his position.

I have never heard anyone mention Ridley and best anything in the same sentence.

One of last off seasons big stories was Ridley carried the ball whever he went, team meetings, lunch, the can...and people were to try to knock it loose when he was not looking.
Because he is a fumbler. Evidently, he has not learned.
He will fumble again, be benched again and see much reduced playing time again then be released sometime late Feruary - early March.

The Fumble in the AFC game I don't hold against him. That was a KO.

All of which may be true but you still don't cut the # 7 rusher last year, you continue to work with him. If you remember Fred Taylor had issues ealry on, in fact for a while he was called Fumbeling Fred, things worked out okay for him.

We'll see.

But Bill does not like fumblers.

Well Riddley me this, what coach does? Point is Ridley is a every effective RB that has a very coachable issue. Cutting him at this point seems extreme to me. But I have come accustom to spoiled Pats fans which is a shame.

also, didn't he ONLY fumble TWICE last year? it's week one..... He didn't protect the ball like he should have and lost his balance... that game had every twist and turn possible... Not enough to cut him at all, EXCEPT sit him a few games

He has 6 career fumbles in 3 seasons, on 386 carries. That's not "a fumbler" - but it isn't a surehanded back either. A fumbler would be Adrian Peterson in the second year of his career - 9 fumbles on 363 carries in the 2008 season. Can you imagine if the Vikings had given up on him after that? Granted Ridley will never be Peterson, of course.

Ridley isn't the most sure-handed back but he's not a 'fumbler' by NFL standards. He did have a horrible game yesterday and absolutely deserved to see the bench, and if Vereen keeps playing like that, Ridley will be looking at a reserve role going forward. Holding onto the football is the #1 thing he needs to work on.

I never suggested cutting him now. I theorized that his fumbling will continue, he will see reduced playing time (we have 5 backs...) and he may be released in the offseason.

All of this theory is based on fumbles. I would prefer that he does not fumble and has a 1,200 - 1,400 yd season with a bunch of TD's.
