Just got the news, that A. Anisimov, B. Dubinsky, T. Erixon & 1st round pick of 2013 were sent by NYR to Jackets for R. Nash. Not an expensive trade for NYR imo. :ohwell:

After months of asking for outrageous returns and packages that made almost every team laugh in the guy's face Howson settles for that return? What kind of blackmail photos does Sather have? Dubinsky is a mental case and was highly overpaid, Erixon and 1st who knows how they pan out. Rangers robbed them.

Are we getting anyone who can improve our roster? Semin, Ryan ...?

My guess would be we see how things play out for the first half of the season and make a trade from our stockpile of D once we know what's what. I think we're good enough without making a move to still be competitive but we certainly need another piece to make a run. It's possible we hold off until free agency next season.

I'd be ok with getting Semin. Maybe the Nash trade will finally get the ball rolling with him, but the lack of interest (at least that has been reported) regarding Semin around the league is a bit startling. Ideally I would like to sign Semin and also make a trade for forward depth.

Well its going to suck when they do the new division format.

Only 4 playoff spots....figure 3 of them go to philly Pitt and now nyr. Leaves 1 spot.

That's Such a shit return. It's amazing though didnt even give up krider or a legit d man they have? Give it to glen he isnt afraid to make trades. and the two major ones he made single handedly saved that team.

If I was thr columbus gm I would've held onto nash until he increased the number of teams he would've went to.

See my earlier post cup, Howson, the cbus GM is a moron. No other explanation. If he held out even a few weeks he could have gotten more out of the rags...let alone desparate teams at deadline. Idiot he be!

Where would you guys place Howson in the worst GMs of all time list?

I don't think there is any aspect of his job that he would qualify as adequate. Maybe marketing but that is it. I think he's already passed Milbury. Atleast Mad Mike was able to pick up talent through the draft which he could subsequently throw away.

In terms of NHL he's gotta be top 3. Columbus gets a lottery pick every year, and every year he blows it. How are you as bad as they have been for so long and not have any young talent to show for it? Throw in the Jeff Carter trade along with this one and you have a dangerously awful GM.

Yeah dw I agree. Rags start off 10-20 and you know sather is on his knees xalling. besides nash never said he was sitting out.

The gm of Atlanta is by far the worst. Not sure if he was the one that draft stefan...then has heatly hossa amd Kovy. And got squat for any of them.

Rags are going to be good this year esp if they open it up. Nash in that lineup last year and rangers win it in 5. Only reason they lost or had trouble at all in the playoffs was the refusal to open if up
