You are so right. This site and every other discussion site should not be allowed to operate for the purpose of allowing hobbyists to exchange thoughts and opinions, good or bad, right or wrong. Nobody should be allowed to discuss sports, or investments, or politics or anything else unless you are on the inside of an organization being discussed...

You missed my point............................discussion of any subject is always good and gives other people a different aspect to consider on any subject. Generally, an opinion is prefaced by "IMO, In My Opinion, I think, I Believe. Too often today, when someone has an opinion, they express it as FACT or as personal knowledge of what someone else is thinking. Several times recently, I have posted information and I always give the source of what I post, and it's been turned on me as if I just made up the entire post. Several times the retorts have been pretty vicious. I stayed away for a week and this message board had absolutely zero new information posted from any source on radio, newspaper or television.

When I give people here something that I've heard or read, it pisses me off when someone comes at me and tries to shove it up my ass or discredit me for posting something they don't like.

If you don't want me to post anything new, just ask and I won't. You can read it in your local newspaper or wait for ESPN to announce it on Sportscenter.

I have read this is not going to happen for NE. Sea wants a player back and a high pick for Sherman. Now that high pick could be top 10 or maybe an early 2nd rd pick, IDK. The only way this works is:
Butler to NO for a 2nd rd pick and whatever else.
Rowe and that #2 to Sea.
Sherman plus a lower pick to NE.

Makes no sense. Why is NO going to give up a pick when they can draft a stud CB at 11, then they are set. They can build up on the def side of the ball in the 2nd, its a deep draft defensively. Why would BB give up on Rowe who has two years left and will take over the other CB spot when Butler leaves, and they could possibly extend Rowe (who played well vs Julio) or draft a kid in the 3rd. Why would BB give up on Butler for a year when he can help this team win this yr, and has his replacement already in house for the next yr? IF BB can get what he wants for Butler then fine, but right now they only team that benefits in the Sherman trade, is Sea....I am more than fine with Butler/Gillmore/Rowe/Jones/Coleman

Seattle changed it's position when everything went public and Sherman publicly said he was ok with being traded to New England. The Patriots had preliminary talks but BB doesn't have Sherman valued as high as Seattle.

According to Tom Curran of CSNNE, more than Seattle's change of demands, it appears that Malcolm Butler will be playing in New England. They think he may be changing his agent, which could lead to possible contract extension.

$25M / $167M = 14.9%
Another way to look at it is cap space per player... What's the player the cap gets divided by? 25?

$167M/25 = $6.7m

To pay two players $25m you'll need to either not pay two players or pay 4 other players only $3.35m. We know that's doable and of course this equation is complicated by compounding several players way over the average and many being paid well less.

The limitation of a multithreaded discussion is often we jump into the middle and miss the entire context of a single post. I admit I did.

I like your posts. As far as your reaction to others "attacking you"... There are protocols and rules of engagement that not everybody gets. Read their content and not their presentation. Even a fool can say something smart when given a chance. Somebody attacking your post as a means to present their thoughts reflects poorly on them and does not undermine you or the validity of your thoughts.

Anybody who thinks this trade could or should happen should read this post. We all can write more on the topic, but nobody could be more on point...

I wasn't trying to discredit your post at all. Just had some questions that arose because of the deal. I would think right now the Seahawks want a 1st round pick when you consider the discount teams are getting in cap hit for a player of Sherman's caliber. So the Saints 2nd round pick just doesn't seem like enough for such a super star. Doesn't mean it wouldn't happen and I would question why the Seahawks would be letting him go for such a cheap price. That was my main issue with the 3-team trade. Doesn't mean it can't happen though.

Now John Schneider also said something else this past week. He said that they turn down 98% of all offers they receive. So while this one maybe has some legs to it teams do seem very hesitant to ever pull the trigger in the end.

ONLY, if the Raider talks fall apart. After saying he'll talk to the Pats, I think the Raiders may get a bit more serious.

I'm not sure if Schneider and Carroll would trade Lynch to the Patriots.......

If Lynch did come to NE he already has the tools BB likes. A power runner who does his job and keeps his mouth shut. You certainly don't have to worry about him talking, lol.
Actually, with the amount of media the Pats attract it could make Lynch's head explode.

Only thing NE has over Oakland is cap space. NE does not have the picks to get either trade done (Sherman/Lynch). Until MB signs his tender and NE gets more picks, this is over for me.

It sounds like Lynch wouldn't mind playing for the Patriots as well.

Marshawn Lynch reportedly interested in Patriots if talks with Raiders break down

You can certainly say one thing.

Bill Bellichick and the Patriots may not be well liked in the NFL but they sure as hell are respected!!!

Now where oh where will the Patriots hang the next banner.

I love this. Far better then the shitty idea of AP.

Seattle fans would shit tho. They get Butler'd. Then Marshawn plays for the Pats. Hawk fans be like :sherm:

Early Edition and Boston Sports Tonight were both reporting last night, that Jeff Howe is reporting that the Richard Sherman trade is alive. Apparently Sherman has told the Seahawks that not only would he agree to a trade to the Patriots, he'd prefer to play for the Patriots. While everyone was talking about the trade being brought back from the dead, one person, Mike Giardi, said there has been some bad blood since the Super Bowl loss to the Patriots over the play calls at the end of the game.

The other interesting thing that happened yesterday was that Marshawn Lynch said to a reporter that he wanted to play with Richard Sherman if He goes to the Patriots.

As shit rolls downhill, Lagarett Blount surfaced and tweeted something to the effect of "Ball On". There is a Patriot offer on the table (take it or leave it) for $1M+ for Blount. With AP showing up in Foxboro and ML saying he wants to play with Sherman if he goes to NE, Giardi thinks that Blount will take the Patriots offer because no one else is offering anything and he could get left out.

This week is going to get very interesting if all of this stuff is even 50% true.
