I'm sure that's why it wouldn't matter that his new base doesn't go into effect until 2015. He's still taking home a nice chunk of change this year and is set for years to come with 40m guaranteed.
Exactly. It's closer to a 4 year $55M in future months and after 3 more years, he can be reliably cut with zero impact (should he get plagued by the fame/injuries/etc). I don't see him going anywhere though, he's too competitive.
Guy literally got us to the SBOWL. I could see him go to a rival just to spite Seattle if we didn't pay the man. He's a Hawk through and through. Brings the exact mentality and attitude we ask for to our team.
