Who said anything about loving the guy? What Redskins fans should do is root for the guy to do as well as possible regardless. Otherwise - you are rooting for the team to fail.
Again - if RG3 somehow landed on another team I probably won't really care about him. I care and cheer for him since he is the Redskins starting QB & hope for the future. If Cousins lit the world on fire during his starts last season I might actually be on board with a switch, but guess what - he didn't. He was drafted late for a reason (might develop eventually but not now).
Perhaps you don't explicitly say you want RG3 to fail, but I have yet to hear you say anything encouraging about the guy & you stated that you would rather have him fail miserably instead of being slightly above avg which sounds ridiculous to me (& you are also assuming that the next QB will be great which is a flawed premise).
I am not sure where you get this idea that most Skins fans are RG3 worshipers & are in love with the guy. I truly believe that most of us just want him to succeed since he is one of the main reasons for hope for this franchise. You also appear to be believe that there were not unique circumstances last season which do not currently exist & may result in a stellar year for RG3 & the team. Just not sure why any Redskins fan would not pull for the guy 100%.
To cut this short, because IM not a fan of the player and think it was a mistake to make the move we made to get him. Why is it ok for fans to actively call for the firing of a coach or cutting of a player they dont like outside of RG3?? Same premise. I think we made a mistake. Now the sooner im either proven wrong or right the better. Because middle of the pack will ultimately hurt the team. IM not assuming the next QB will be great. Im hoping he either proves he was worth the deal, or we move on from it quickly if it does infact turn out to be the mistake I think it was.
