I agree Eager could calm down a bit, but I don't think the shit talking to Louongo was bad. If you watch the replay, Lou wouldn't let his leg go, and Eager leaned down to say something. Id go as far to say pretty Busch League move by Lou.

bullshit. if that's the case, don't you think you'd see eager try to pull his leg up a little bit? eager moved towards Lou, not away from him.
eager himself after the game just said about he trash talking (sarcastically, of course) "I scored on him, I was excited"
tale of the tape, fwiw
Marleau 6'2, 220lbs
Bieksa 6'1, 198lbs
LMAO @ Roenicks comments after that period. He was hopping on Marleau's dick big time. Claiming that could very well possibly be the turning point in the series for the Sharks. He got owned, badly.
Where the fuck is Milbury. Roenick is retarded. I know everyone hates Milbury.
I am probably in the minority here but I wasn't impressed at all by Marleau's fight. He just stood there and took it. Besides that I didn't notice an effect on the team. Maybe they like him better? Maybe Clowe will finally add him as a facebook friend? But it didn't seem to have much of an effect on the game.
I guess the best thing it did was take Bieska off the ice for five minutes.
he verbally beats down eric francis on the hot stove.
that's the big thing.... it could have revved up the team*, and they rally to show as much guts as Marleau (he had to know he was over matched, right? right??). Instead eager turns it into a monkey show, and McLellan for some reason decides to feed that by putting the lunatic out on the ice against the Sedins (really? you WANT that matchup in a close game?). It was a wasted beatdown, and I would put a lot of that blame on McLellan.
*(much like the team should be inspired by Thornton's play)
Lol... Grapes is a over-the-top whacko at times but sometimes he's a pretty smart hockey analyst. I agree with his pet peeve about D-men tipping pucks and screening goalies. Either get out there and block it or get out of the way. Hamhuis and White on either side last night, a perfect example.
At least in that clip, he's wearing a "normal" suit. My wife thinks he shops for fabric at the retro furniture upholstery store sometimes.
Size means nothing when it come to going toe to toe for the most part. Especially on the ice. It is all about your pillars of strength. If you can keep your balance, and really plant your feet, you'll hit harder.
Same goes on the ground. Just gotta know how to maneuver.
Agreed, Stan Jonathan was only about 5'8 or 5'9 and he was feared by a lot of bigger guys. Tie Domi went toe to toe with Bob Probert lots of times and there were some classic tilts.
Reminds me of a story when I was a kid. Me and my best friend were stick boys for the local senior team and we had a mid-summer exhibition game in Nelson BC one year. Pat Price was a Nelson boy and an enforcer in the NHL and came home to play the game. Started running guys and acting all tough. We had a guy on our team named Hugh Christian. He was 5'8 and about 180# but really hard nosed and strong. He took the 6'2, 200+ Price to the woodshed and completely humiliated him. Price didn't even come back out for the third period, if I remember correctly. (It was almost 40 years ago)
