I agree ,just thought I would show what’s out thereW
Lol. This sounds like some of the posters here. Welcome to the NFL in 2019. This type of contract situation is happening for almost all NFL teams at this time. Lowballed Crowder? LOL - the guy wasn't really worth that much anyhow. He is replaceable.
I am not an Allen fan, but in regards to Scherff they will figure something out. He either gets the extension or they tag him (which admittedly they might mess up somewhat). He is going anywhere for a while.

Would Scherff be over paid at the highest contract for a guard, yes.
True that sometimes you let a player walk instead of paying him handsomely. It is a pick and choose situation. I agree with that.
Does the Redskin FO continue to F-up, they certainly do. If you don't believe me then take a look at their record under Snyder.
Cousin's wasn't over paid when he helped take them to the playoffs for $660,000. He was probably paid about right for the next two years (which could have been long term) but the FO F'd-up that situation.
So before you say "this sounds like a bunch of posters here" lets think about the entire situation. We could create a list of player the Redskins let walk that would have been worth and I'll just say Ryan Clark and Antonio Pierce without thinking about it hard at all.
NP. Several things. First of all I didn't say "a bunch of posters" - I said "some of the posters here" & I was not including you in that group. Secondly I already stated that the FO screwed up the Cousins situation. Thirdly - I don't like Allen as much or more than most folks here - only hoping he gets less control by the day, but salary decisions still probably lie with him to a great extent - for now.
I am just suggesting that Scherff will be here for at least a few more seasons. I am not in any way arguing for Allen or anyone else. We will see how this plays out.
I am not worried about who you were directing the comments at. I would love Scherff to be here two to four more years. You and I both know that in todays NFL you have to figure out which guys to pay and which ones not to pay. I feel like he is a border line guy. But like Cousin's if you pay him within two years he will drop to 6 or lower on the pay scale.
I am sure we both agree if you want to be good you better be good on both lines.
Personally I think that Scherff is a keeper but can understand why others may not agree. Now if he misses a significant portion of next season due to injury I will obviously feel differently.
Redskins should be in a favorable cap position in the next few years when guys like Smith & possibly Norman come off the books. If Haskins does well & is their QB for next season they should be in a good place for several years. Whether it pans out like that who knows. That is part of the fun of following the team.
