According to a report from NJ.com's Mark Eckel, the Philadelphia Eagles are going to try to trade up for Marcus Mariota in the 2015 NFL Draft.

Eagles' head coach Chip Kelly, who was recently also made director of player personnel, is the former Oregon head coach who recruited Mariota.

Yea, if Mariota drops outside the top 10 I could see that happening. If he trades up to the top spot, he'll be back in college in a couple of years. Plus I don't think there is any way the Glaziers let that top pick get traded. At the end of the day, this is probably a smoke screen. If Chip really said this and meant this, he has no clue how to go about the draft.

This deal could happen...at least for now...TN coaches have said they like Mettenberger and expect him to be the guy next year.

PHI is picking 20th...that might be too low to get big time pass rusher, but they can get a starting caliber OT. Just depends on how many other picks are involved.

Bucs are going to take Winston most likely...if TN goes DEF...I can't see Mariota getting past the Jets, and Rams. PHI is most probably dealing with TN. Tipping his hand would be a stupid move so it could be a smokescreen.

That would cost a FORTUNE and I'd be all for it. One team already screwed themselves moving up for a QB and forgetting about the rest of their team.

PHI would be better off sitting where they are and getting a starting OL. Every team needs OL. a pick in the 20's is a great place to find one.

This has way to many needs to sell out for a QB, secondary needs to be revamped, OLB and ILB needs help and depth, then there is the depth on the OL plus DL......

1. Kelly will be out of coaching very quickly if he trades up for Mariota... I don't see Mariotta being a very good NFL qb... Eagles will go backwards if that happens...

2. Foles is great trade bait right now... They could definitely trade him for a #1 pick, if not, a #2 at least...

3. Sanchez would be a adequate backup... Mariota should sit at least a year if they trade up for him... He's not NFL ready.... Sanchez would have to start a season until Mariota get's a year of learning...

Overall, Kelly is going to take the Eagles in the wrong direction... Defenses win CSHips... It's been proven over and over again... ... Plus, defenses are already catching up to his scheme....

The Eagles were victimized by mark Sanchez sucking ass is more like it.


Some guys are just losers and it affects the whole team regardless of stats.
The team just lost its confidence without its starting QB.


They were rolling along just fine at (7-2) until they got sanchized into a (3-4) finish...and it was more like (2-4) in games that mattered plus one meaningless win in week 17.


Nick Foles, Chip Kelly, and the offense will be fine.
There is no history of Foles being always injured. It was likely a one time thing.


They need defensive secondary players.
I am not in the slightest worried about offense.


They just have a horrible pass defense in the secondary.

I couldn't care less personally...what you say makes all the sense in the world, but the NCG hurt his chances of going #1...unless Winston just comes to the combine totally unprepared (possible) the Bucs are going to take Winston.

I doubt there is any truth to this. All of a sudden there are credible reports that Chip Kelly is trying to trade up? This is the guy that never gives any indication of what is really going on. I think this is just smoke blowing up someone's ass and he is probably planning the opposite. He realizes that he has no shot at getting Mariota at #1

If this is true there are some that on the Eagles board that would be happy. Some even suggested the Eagles should trade 3 number one picks and Fletcher Cox to move up and get Mariota.
