Sorry, but it's nowhere near the same Asham. You should of just left it at "I apologize, it was classless."

Celebrating a goal and celebrating beating the shit out of someone and possibly concussing them are not the same.

I just want to say one thing about this, though... In my humble opinion, you cannot support fighting and also get bent about Arron's little celebration, afterwards. If fighting needs to be taken out of the sport, fine. I have no problem with it being eliminated.

But, if a guy wants to feel the adrenaline afterwards, and he tries to charge up the crowd after 'winning' a fight, it's no different than a goal-scorer doing some antics after putting one in the back of the cage. They're entertaining the crowd, and Asham said as much. He also said he regretted it, but in the heat of the moment, when the blood pressure is up, every poster on this forum has said or done something they've later regretted. This is no different. We don't need to gather a lynch mob and tie Asham to a tree for it.

Let's not forget what is being put on the line when two men go toe to toe in front of thousands of watchful eyes. It is their pride that is on the line. If you were to lay someone out the way Asham did last night, don't you think you also would be pretty fired up?!?

Oh I agree with you, the thing I don't agree with is. like I said, comparing celebrating a goal to celebrating a fight. It's just not the same.

I regret nothing. I have led a perfect life. :)

So Darkstone... what do you think about Neutrinos? Fast little buggers I hear.

I'm going to stick with the experimental error theory until it's been verified. There's too much riding on it to jump to any radical conclusions. :nerd:

Also, I haven't seen anything about it since the initial reports. That really upsets me. This is a big deal, but the media doesn't see the need to promote it. I mean, what's more scandalous than Einstein's Theory of Special Relativity potentially being wrong?!?! Double :nerd:

I agree with alot you say and truth be told fighting is really starting to get old to me ... I kinda cringe now everytime a fight starts and I hope to god no one ends up going to la la land on the ice

I know its heat of the moment stuff and guys can end up doing stuff that doesnt look good because of that ... I especially know theres little thinking time when you have basically just emerged from hand to hand combat but using Asham as an example ... if its to pump up the fans and the game ... why the ko hand wave and the sleepy time gesture? ... sure its difficult to come down from something like that but he didnt need to mock a guy who looked like he was scuffling

I haven't seen anything myself, so I thought I would asked you... I really hope the findings turn out to be true... no better way to learn, than to find out you have been wrong.

For the record, if this thread gets derailed, it is not my fault.

Just sayin. (looking at you DS)...

I think you hit the nail on the head with your own response. He just emerged from hand to hand combat. You are talking about something that is innate or hard-wired in our brains. Ash won the combat, and the chemicals that help propel you through a fight, adrenaline being one of them, also make you do silly stuff after it's over.

After Phelps and the US swim team won the gold medal in China for the relay, I remember reading an article about their post-game celebration. Basically, the writer compared their stances and body language after winning, to that of a gorilla after defending his turf, or winning over another male fighting for the same female. The hands are above the head, usually there is some screaming involved, blood vessels and muscles are bulging out of the body, etc. etc.

It's just a reaction. He looked foolish, no doubt. But, you can reasonably argue the same chemicals that make you do weird stuff after you score a goal, are also the same chemicals that make you do goofy stuff after you win a fight. You cannot control your actions, sometimes. This would be a good example of losing control, if only for a moment.

The OPERA Project is asking a few folks to work on verifying it. I know one of them is actually in Chicago.

And I'm with you on hoping it's true. Great things happen when science gets turned on its head. Most recently, quantum mechanics.

For the record, if this thread gets derailed, it is not my fault.

I didn't start it!

Pretty sure that's because none of the reporters that would be covering it really understand the significance of it.

And next time they do try to cover it they'll probably interrupt with a "ZOMG, there's an attractive white woman who's missing" type of story.

So, did anyone look up neutrino? Hoping someone didn't know what it was, and looked it up... you just got schooled. I'm a dork... when I saw darkstone on, I figure it was a prefect chance for me to perhaps learn a little more and to introduce some folks to the neutrino. Fascinating stuff. hijacking over.

There are three kinds of neutrino. :nerd:

Ah, see... glad I asked... I do not know much at all, I am interested enough to seek out info and pay attention though. Do you know what type or if all three potentially exhibit that behavior? Good stuff.

EDIT: Darkstone, I do not want to take up your time... I enjoy this stuff, I can look up the info on my own... I mean feel free to teach me if you want, but don't take up your time...
