I saw that earlier. It's easy to get caught up in the moment and I'm glad that he owned up to it. I loved the fight, but felt a little embarrassed at the celebration afterward. Good for him.

Seriously, it was cool of him to say it was classless. Asham seems to be a pretty straight-forward dude. I'm sure he just got caught up in the moment, and the adrenaline was doing the talking.

Can you read? Myself, 46, Apache all said the celebration wasn't a big deal and that it was classy he apologized afterward. I agree 100% with what DC said and posted almost the exact same thing in the GNT. Heat of the moment stuff happens, not a biggie, his contrition afterwards was a class move.

i still dont like what Asham did and it deserves a fine since the players have been shown the league video

but Ashams been a fairly "honest" player during his career so Ill give him the benefit of the doubt and his apology/contrition is duly noted

Sorry, but it's nowhere near the same Asham. You should of just left it at "I apologize, it was classless."

Celebrating a goal and celebrating beating the shit out of someone and possibly concussing them are not the same.

I think the point was missed... it's not what is being celebrated, but why the excessive celebration happens.. to get the crowd pumped up... OV, or any excessive celebration is either a selfish player or a player trying to get the corwd in to the game... Asham's gesture were meant to provide the same catalyst... again, it was in poor taste and classless... but the reason behind the gesture is the same
