I have to agree, I believe the Reds tv broadcasters, has to rank near the bottom, as being the worst in all of MLB. And god help us when it's a blowout. They may not mention who's hitting or pitching for 3 or 4 batters.
Watching Suarez hit in the 2nd inning, he was looking at the third baseman when he swung at strike 3. Talk about bailing out. After that Barnhart did exactly the same thing.
Thom thucks. They should make Marty and Kelch do TV and radio at the same time and save some bucks. Keep Jim Day to do special funnies, fire the rest of those hacks and use the change to buy a fucking bullpen that could hit the zone more often than every other hitter. THAT would be more entertaining than listening to Thom drone on about his kids soccer game, or Welsh lecturing on bad control that he couldn't resolve without a 4.98 ERA himself.
Are you sure they're just not turning to walk back to the dugout in the middle of the pitch?
I guess which side of the field the dugout is on could dispel that notion. But 9 hits in a series and a 10 game losing streak lends itself towards the team quiting on itself, the fans, and the current coaching staff.
When a team is more games under .500 than wins for the season.... you either need to start bailing water faster or learn to swim. I think the Reds have chosen to drown.
I'm not sure the Reds offense could hit their own bullpen right now. And that's bad.
I used to listen to the Reds on the radio and muted the sound. but I guess the TV broadcast don't like that so they put a 5 to 10 second delay, Not to mention I live in an area where it's getting harder and harder to find a good radio station that carries baseball
I buy the MLB tv package and wish I had not this year.
I think it's long past time to jettison the crew that runs this team. I have not always been met with agreement on that but the change has to be made even if it's cosmetic.
I think the many who are on this board (all 4 of us) agree that they stink. But if you would go to another board. They would probably be a lot who would disagree.
Myself I would rather watch paint dry, or have all my teeth pulled, rather than listen to Joe Buck, But every time I turn on a late afternoon football game or World Series game, I have to listen to him talk about how some fan smiled at a player and that changed to whole game, or something stupid like that
The Reds dispel the notion that a pitcher can be a streak stopper. Finnegan allows one run..... the Dodgers score two. The team scores five runs and the Brew Crew post nine. This streak may not end until the schedule runs out.
The Brewers are throwing Chase Anderson out on the mound today. He has a ERA of 5.0+ which you'd think would bode well for the Reds, but then you realize the Reds are countering with Alfredo Simon who has a ERA twice that.
Disco is throwing rehab now ... has an ERA of 9.00 so one assumes that ... nah, never mind.
These young guys are getting a once-in-a-lifetime chance to pitch at the top level and ... here's AJ Morris, 3 hits, 3 walks in .2 innings. Cheesh ... whatever happened to giving a shit about your career.
