These callups/send-downs are going to achieve nothing since none of the starters can get past the 5th anyway.
Josh Smith was a disaster when he was up before. Dayan Diaz holds out a little hope. Morris is probably another version of the same thing we've seen.
Meanwhile, going into LA, these guys will be headed for at least a 9-game loss streak.

Don't look now, but I think the Reds bullpen has pitched 8 full innings with out giving up a run. That has to be a record for the 2016 record.:thumb::clap:. but I don't think the Reds have had no runs and few hits against the opposing teams bullpen in quit some time. :trash::doh::mad2::L sorry i'm getting a little carried away with these:lol::hammer::kermit::lm::postwhore::violin:7 loses in a row and going west:yawning::what::boss:

I thought it was amusing 2 years ago when some of the experts over at Redleg Nation thought Nori Aoki was a bad idea.

I've always liked Nori Aoki. He was always reasonably priced and is a solid player.

You have to wonder how long they're going to keep running Big Pasta out there?

I guess Morris, Smith, and Dayan Diaz are going to all pitch out of the bullpen. They've got Daniel Wright scheduled to pitch in LA. They'll have to add him to the 40 man and make another corresponding move to make room.

The bullpen held the deficit today, but another problem remained. The offense didn't play add-on or show any capacity to come back.

It was a beautiful day at the ballpark. A lot of kids today for a Reds wiffle ball and bat give-away. I guess they had more than the demand necessitated, they were giving them to adults as well. I arrived in the middle of the first inning and they were still trying to get rid of them.

I was wondering if Simon might do better in the bullpen, but would he go there, Also who would take his place in the rotation.
Someday one of these guys on the DL has to come back....don't they? I mean the seasons almost 2 months in. Pasta might actually help in the Bullpen

Yorman was put on the 60-day and I think Bailey was too. Reds are saying Yorman's hammy injury isn't getting better ... after 3 months. Hell, you heal from a broken back quicker than that. So I'd say they are just stockpiling Yormie till they can find a deal to make for him.

I think Pasta Alfredo would pitch hay if the Reds told him to. He has no other doors to open unless he becomes a specialty pitcher, and that's usually a job for lefties.
Wright will probably get 2 starts, which hopefully will end better than Adleman's unfortunate injury.

Can't comment on last night's game....
didn't watch it.

Looking at the box score and your personal perspective it was either a pitchers dual or offensive ineptitude.

West coast game, Kershaw on the mound, not surprising.

Finnegan posted a good outing, but the lone run was setup by a leadoff walk. Like to see him be more consistent from start to start.

Anyone watch the game?

I watched part of it. Big league pitcher against clueless beaten losers.

What's sad is Finnegan pitched a complete game, and good enough to win, but they lost. Where has the offense gone. No I didn't watch it.

Maybe a take-away from that is it will give Finnegan some confidence. Losing to Kershaw is no sin, but it's another nail in the coffin when the top hitter in the team is now on the Mendoza line.

He needs to be moved down in the order and given a few "rest days" And if he doesn't like it, he can void his contract and go somewhere else

Reds at -88 have the worst run differential in MLB, with the Twins at -80. The Twins are being called the worst team of the 21st century, which would be worse than the 2003 Tigers.

It appears the Reds hitters are going after numbers. A very unfortunate attitude.

Price doesn't manage. He just changes pitchers and juggles the batting order.

The recent callups AJ Morris and Josh Smith made a impact in last night's game... they allowed the Dodgers to ascend to a season high runs scored at home.

They also brought the Reds total for pitchers appearing in a game up to 24. The club record is 30. With Bailey, DeSclafani, and Lorenzen yet to pitch and 126 games to go it's hard to imagine they won't blow by that number.

Combine that with the team being on a record pace for losses and we're seeing history made right before our eyes.

Continuing to watch probably won't hurt your eyes, but.......
Viewer discretion is advised.

With Straily going tonight. It is probably the Reds best chance to break this losing streak. I would think, they could win at least one against the Brewers and maybe one against the Rockies. THEN AGAIN?

I'm starting to get a little frustrated here, It seems Reds players and management don't give a damn. :trash:

Welsh said the Reds are also last or near it in OBP. "Nobody saw that coming," he said. Which meant the Reds were expecting their lineup to keep them afloat. it's another way of saying what I have contended ... this is NOT a rebuild. This is just bad management in hopes of a gift from the angels in a year or so.

I'm not sure why Welsh thought this team would be getting on base? Other than Votto the previous half dozen years..... who has gotten on base more than league average on a year to year basis? Bow Tie Tuesday is fitting for that clown.

The Fox announcers are about as clueless as anyone when it comes to analyzing this team. They get paid to be entertaining.... are they? I say no.

You get more information in a half inning on the radio from the beat writers than you do from Fox during a entire broadcast.

If you want the news you have to get it from somewhere. But I don't think I'd rank any Reds media source as top notch... radio, TV, or print.
