Maybe not big contract guys but solid starters because at the moment there is no way we can fix everything in the draft with needs from last year and guys the Redskins have cut or let walk away in free agency

Agreed! Smh Idk what Scot is doing. The least he could've done was attempt to get Damon Harrison. He let Pot Roast walk. Jason Hatcher's gone. Our D-line is in desperate need of help. He can't assume he'll mirror last year's draft. No player we draft could have an instant impact. We need a CB, FS and a SS. Smh Brent Grimes got released from the Dolphins. We could use another CB. Why not sign him!? So far, we only brought in Chris Long for a visit. Idk what for. It's clear he doesn't fit the defense. I guess.

Do you realize what Damon Harrison got?

Breath gents. Free agency just started, and our GM has a plan. It might not give you all the warm and fuzzy's. But we all should have known this wasnt going to be an instant transformation. And not taking short cuts after years of being the biggest players on day one of FA, might have some of us a little nervous.

Personally i think its refreshing.

Only problem is we need starters all over the place and the Draft won't be able to fix our problems

I agree. But shortcuts aint going to help. So unless you seriously wanted us to try once again to make a mad dash for the Super Bowl at the expense of building a roster that can last and be a consistent contender....

Relax, smoke a blunt, and let our GM do his thang. :suds:

You know the Vinny crowd isn't going to be happy when we don't spend a ton of money on the opening day of FA.

Check this out:

Chase Daniel: 3 yrs, $21M (but could reach $36M with incentives), $12M fully guaranteed
Colt McCoy: 3 yrs, $9M, $1.8M in guaranteed money

If Daniel reaches his incentives, he'll have the same AAV as Bradford.

Wow.

I'm with you. There is a happy medium between doing nothing and Vinny Ceratto...LOL.

I think we could have picked up at least 3 quality decently priced free agents today. I have faith in our GM but the options are dwindling rather quickly and fast. The fact that we don't have any visits lined up is bizarre as well.

I want to build through the draft but you can't base 100% of your team around the draft and thats just the bottom line. Not sure if there is really anyone left that we can afford or that I want to be honest.

Hoping we hit another home run in the draft.

Yeah $21 million for a guy who has thrown 1 career TD pass seems a little crazy.

I don't think McCloughan is on the one year plan. I believe we will sign some FAs but he has stated that the draft is the life blood of the team.

I agree you build through the draft but you also have to shop smartly in free agency and at the moment we have signed nobody have nobody line up to come here for a interview and the solid pool of free agents is dwindling

We signed a lot of guys today. SM took care of the guys that were here that he wanted. There is time for other signings, that don't break the bank. We have a long history of first day FA busts. I am fine with what they are doing.

Foster .... really I am not going to debate with you. Every year you are looking for prize FAs. SM isn't, I am good with that. Apparently you aren't. No offense but I have a lot more confidence in SM and they way he wants to do business. I have seen what free agency has done to this team for many years. Today is a day for over paying. I am glad he is signing his own FAs to reasonable contracts. I prefer that to signing a guy who has thrown 1 career TD pass to a $21 million dollar contract.
