I'm not a big fan of "retire a jersey number". Most professional teams have a "ring of fame" or something like it, that honors the player for eternity. If they keep retiring numbers, they wont have many to choose from 50 years from now. Stop the madness!

The ONLY number I have ever agreed with it's retirement was...42

Speaking of Redskins jerseys - my brother just called from the game (he lives in Nashville - I was supposed to be there but have to work now). Anyhow - at a pre-game establishment he sees a woman there wearing a Redskins # 5 Heath Shuler jersey - WTF? He asked her why in the heck she was wearing that & she had no answer. The Redskins should retire the # 5 simply because it has resulted in nothing but crappy play by QBs...

A few years back - did you tape a "McNabb" sticker on the back?
Kind of reminds me of a little while ago when in the DC area you would find those Haynseworth jerseys on the bargain rack for about $5-10 & still nobody bought them.

I was at a game back in 2009 where a guy had a Riggins jersey on. He put a piece of duct-tape over "Riggins" and wrote Obama on the tape with a sharpie (Obama being the 44th President). He caught a ton of hell for that. I don't care what side of the aisle one falls on, you don't write over the name of a Hall of Famer for your team with ANY politician.
