Its going be OK guys
I agree. And to those that say we “lost” out on Johnson, that’s BS. We didnt lose him, he was never a viable candidate. The only coach we potentially lost was Macdonald. But I’d take Quinn over Macdonald right now. There is a lot of new shit happening in this franchise. We need someone that’s done it before somewhere in management. Quinn has, and at a high level. One of the best posts all day. People fell in love with two or the coordinators that might be good HC's but they could just as easily flop. The league is full of guys like Belichek, Dungy, Carroll, Reid and others that failed at their first change then went on to win Super Bowls.
Okay, I'm going to be completely honest. I am disappointed we ended up with Quinn. He was about four or five on my original list.
Johnson
Macdonald
Slowik
Harbaugh
Quinn
Harbaugh was never an option
Slowik and Ben stayed
It was so obvious that Ben was our number one, it felt like Macdonald didn't want to walk into a lockerroom as a first year HC knowing that the entire lockerroom knew he wasn't who the front office really wanted.
That left Quinn.
From the jump we heard Quinn's name. If you remember I kept posting stuff like, "this Quinn story is the one that just won't go away."
They wanted leadership.
They wanted a guy that could put together a great staff. Quinn fit the bill.
I think losing out on Ben hurt some, not all on here, because we thought the narrative on the Skins had changed.
We thought people veiwed us as if it was 1992, not the Commanders of 2024 with a decaying stadium, ancient facilities, and a fanbase that has migrated to Baltimore.
That's what hurts. Slowik and Ben would rather stay then coach us.
Quinn is a solid hire. This defense will never be ranked 32nd again under him. We got the GM that everyone in this cycle wanted. Dan Snyder lives across the pond and we are about to draft our franchise QB.
I will give Quinn a chance. I'm hoping he gets a young, innovative OC. Just because Quinn wasn't my plan B, doesn't mean he wasn't their's.
I think he grabs somebody from SF but that is my opinion.Okay, I'm going to be completely honest. I am disappointed we ended up with Quinn. He was about four or five on my original list.

i,ve heard he,s going after marty,s son as oc.I think he grabs somebody from SF but that is my opinion.
A strength of Quinn is his skill at building a staff. I like our new DC. Good start I feel.
Compared to February 2023, here is where we are currently. We are starting to look and feel like a football team.
2023
Owner: Snyder
GM: Rivera
HC: Rivera
2024
Owner: Harris and group
GM: Peters
HC: Quinn
Those are all upgrades. Will we win a super bowl in 2024, no, but times are a changin.
A lot of people forget in Atlanta he had Kyle, Raheem, Mike McDonald. Let's see what he can put together here. I need him to run the defense though. If he delegates that, I'm out.I think he grabs somebody from SF but that is my opinion.

I agree and we all know the white elephant in the room: who will the OC be?A lot of people forget in Atlanta he had Kyle, Raheem, Mike McDonald. Let's see what he can put together here. I need him to run the defense though. If he delegates that, I'm out.
Great post! Mid season last year I said I would love to have Quinn as a HC. Like many once the media starting rolling shiny new penny's I jumped from one to another. But never one favorite. The rumor mill said HOG really liked Quinn as you mentioned.Okay, I'm going to be completely honest. I am disappointed we ended up with Quinn. He was about four or five on my original list.

Rivera's staff toward the end was a joke. A high school secondary coach. Had to fire Mills in camp to avoid a mutiny. Scott Turner hasn't sniffed an OC job since he left.I agree and we all know the white elephant in the room: who will the OC be?
Believe it or not, I think the 2nd most important hire will be the QB coach. The qb coach EB brought in was clearly in over his head and I said that. You dont hire a Stanford QC as an nfl qb coach. It was a bad joke and we saw the results.
I think the defensive staff will be solid and will consist of up and coming, talented coaches.
I almost picture the OC as a defensive boss that is common in the nfl. Will Quinn let them run the show and leave them alone? I think it can work, but it depends on the OC. EB was awful, so it didn't work, however, a more talented OC can make it work I feel.
The 3rd most important position coach hire would be OLine coach I feel.
We have a lot of work to do and Quinn needs to get busy.
Same with peters! He needs an assistant GM to help plan free agency and draft strategy. Exciting times!
I remember watching FedEx being built. My best friend's mom lived accross from the parking lot. That thing went up quick.Great post! Mid season last year I said I would love to have Quinn as a HC. Like many once the media starting rolling shiny new penny's I jumped from one to another. But never one favorite. The rumor mill said HOG really liked Quinn as you mentioned.
Another thing the media and us fans did was to suggest we were most desirable destination. Fed Ex was built quickly .... my brother who worked there told me that. Dan hardly put a dime into the place. Now HOG is spending millions to put lipstick on a pig. Training facilities are over 50 years old. If you asked most people they would say our existing players were sub par.
Having the #2 pick overall, 5 picks in the top 100 and lots of cap space is attractive but this rebuild is likely to take a couple of years.
I think we are in a better position then we were a year ago.
Yes sir!Rivera's staff toward the end was a joke. A high school secondary coach. Had to fire Mills in camp to avoid a mutiny. Scott Turner hasn't sniffed an OC job since he left.
They gotta hit on OC and QB coach (Kubiak?). They have to hit in QB at #2. If Dan and Peters get those right, we'll have a shot.
Getting a top 8 dynamic QB in here will be the game changer.
I sure hope so. I hope Quinn has enough self-awareness to know this is probably his last shot.Yes sir!
Riveras problem is he wanted to get the band back together from his CAR. He was too blind to see that the same clowns he brought in, minus JDR, were the same folks who contributed to his firing in CAR. He even brought in his old GM to help the front office. What a terrible look!
Quinn strikes me as one who would bring in associates...but competent associates. Rivera simply brought in his buddies regardless of skillset.
Yeah, Macdonald was a hot enough candidate to know he didn't have to walk into a lockerroom with the plan B label hanging over his head.
MacDonald got an offer from us. Looks like he was #2. Quinn was #3. Johnson was #1. Hey there was a list, lol

6 years is a long time! LolSeattle has the better team right now, but we have more cap room and draft picks. Im curious on what Mac deal was. Maybe he got 6 years at big money.
