I think Parsons is out of the question, but what I took from it, is that players love him and he's going to be a plus in FA. Players talk to each other.
Could be a plus

Had to screenshot those. Thanks!
Mike McCarthy is still the Cowboys head coach, right?
Unfortunately yes. But it was Quinn's much ballyhooed defense that shit the bed first.
Teams figured out for the most part, instead of double and triple teaming him, they just ran the play away from his side. The Cowboys defense was far too reliant on Parsons wreaking havoc. When teams were able to neutralize them, they could exploit the defense.

And who ran that defense?
Dan Quinn went 43-42 with Matt Ryan at QB, Vrabel went 54-45 with Tannehill, Mariota, Levis, Dobbs and Gabbert.
Commanders don't have an elite QB and aren't getting one any time soon. Vrabel was the hire. Plus, dude's still in his 40s.
I wanted to root for you guys, but this move kinda saps the mojo new ownership was bringing.
Coaches aren't magicians. They don't magically turn average players into all pros.
Maybe the next Cowboys coach will put Lawrence and Rankins in time machines and make them 26 again. They'll have Diggs back which will help. Not relying on old man Gilmore will help.
Who would you have rather had, and why?
Valid point but I am still not thrilled with the hire
