ESPN's Ed Werder reports the Redskins have had "internal discussions" about signing free agent DE Greg Hardy.

The Redskins' thin pass rush just loss Junior Galette for the season, and GM Scot McCloughan hasn't been shy about adding players with "character concerns," real or imagined. Hardy's are very real, but he's a dominant pass rusher who remains in his physical prime. The Redskins would be an unsurprising team to take the plunge. Perhaps no organization in the league is more used to bad PR.

Hmmmmmmm.....

I'd do it. The reward is higher than the risk imo.....they can release him at any time since contracts aren't guaranteed.

'Internal discussions' means exactly that. Would surprise me if Hardy hadn't been discussed. Now signing him, is a whole different thing.

For the record, I do not want Hardy on this team. I do not care how talented the dude is.

This is one guy you will get ZERO argument from me on Cali. Gallette was a maybe the guy was just in the wrong place and defending himself. Bringing in Hardy, I would lose another level of respect for our GM on that one.

Excerpt

"Losing Junior Galette obviously hurt our pass rush," the coach said. "We have some young guys we're very excited about, but if we can add another experienced pass rusher for training camp, we've got that spot.

"I know we're talking to a couple people, so we'll see how it goes."

One of those players won't be Hardy. ESPN reported Tuesday that the Redskins discussed signing Hardy, but a person who was involved in those discussions confirmed that the verdict was not to pursue the troubled linebacker.

No to Hardy. We FINALLY changed the culture at Redskins Park. Those dudes actually like each other. With RG gone we are finally off the headlines and out of the mouths of all the talking heads. Hardy would bring all that back. Jax even showed up and lifted a few times. Preston had 5 sacks in his last three games. Give him a shot. Does Hardy get us out of the NFC? Probably not. Would Gallete have? Probably not. So you might as well see what you got in a guy you spent a 2nd round draft choice on.

NO, NO and fucking NO. I would rather my team go 4-12 than sign that piece of shit.

If he is on the 53 man roster to start the season, his salary becomes guaranteed. That's why a lot of veterans don't get signed till after week one.
