all well and good but its murphy , the replacement that should be compared
If you are going to do that comparison, you need to include Preston smith also since they rotate in and out. Between the 2, they have 6.5 sacks, jUst a half behind Rak. Considering the money, not a bad trade off.

What a great road win, one I didn't see coming. As Dean said we got damned lucky. And also as posted before for once the ball bounced our way, twice actually, on perhaps the games's biggest play. We survived the worst game Trent Williams will ever play, we survived because our defense stood tall after the big pass on a broken play and forced a 50 yarder just to tie with plenty of clock for Kirk to use.

Ryan Kerrigan is finally getting healthy. His burst around the edge has finally returned and it's obvious that it makes him a much different player. Pot Roast actually made his presence felt, exactly what I was asking for a few weeks ago. Matt Jones has in my opinion figure out the fumbling problem. Refs still suck but at least this crew was not as flag happy as last week. But just like in the Dallas game I thought the first play was a TD, the second was not and a make up call

Kerrigan would probably have a lot more sacks if the refs actually paid attention when he is basically being held in a choke hold numerous times during games. They turn a blind eye to this sort of thing but somehow manage to come up with numerous phantom calls throughout the game. I guess that Goodell doesn't really care about having quality officiating.

I blame much of the poor officiating on some of the recent rules changes and the reliance on instant replay. Rules like the catch rule and the head targeting rule are impossible to be accurate on in a split second decision. With in.stant replay, they seem to err on the side of the offense and just let the ref in the sky work it out.

I think it's pretty amazing that the Redskins manage to win ANY games after all the injuries leading to players on the IR to the starters / key contributors they've had over the season.

Let's see if I can list them all:

Preseason:
Junior Gallette, Paul, Paulsen, Adam Haywood (key special teams LB)

In Season:

Culliver, Trenton Robinson (starting S at one point), Lichtensteiger, Lavauo, Paea,

Not to mention Jeffcoat (rotational end), and Nacho (suspected starting S).

That's a whole lot of manpower to overcome!

Anyway... on to Buffalo!

There is a silver lining to all of this. This has provided an opportunity for several of the younger players to get experience when otherwise they would likely not be on the team or on the bench. This could pay huge dividends in the years ahead.

The end result could be much improved play and depth in areas like the secondary, LB and the O line in future years. Lots of potential for this team & I stand by my claim that I believe that they will be the best team in the NFC-E within the next few years (and not with some crappy record). We will see.

Agree & I guess that the league might make changes in terms of the catch rules. However - I also believe that the refs generally get a free pass in this area when a lot of this can be attributed to just plain out bad refs some of whom appear to have an agenda and an attitude to boot.

the funny thing about all of this is if we win our next 2 games we could sit our starters vs dallas . can you believe that ? of course this team is too young to expect that

We couldn't sit all of our starters as half of them are already on IR.

We all know that unless we win out, the Giants will come up with some sort of obscure rule where they win the Division no matter what.

And it actually wouldnt shock me if we won out and Mara still came up with some way to disqualify us and the Eagles to hand the Division to the Giants any way.

Basically both the Sheagles and the Redskins control their own destiny, with the game in two weeks very likely going to decide the division.

The redskins will probably beat the Bills.
The Eagles will probably lose to the Cards.

The redskins should beat the cowboys
The Eagles have already beaten the Giants.

I thought at the time that the biggest play of the game was the third down after the long pass to Jeffries. They convert they kill the clock as they move for a closer FG or possible TD. That stop and suddenly they needed a 50 yarder just to tie while leaving Kirk plenty of time to go the other way.
