It becomes fully guaranteed in July, NOT when the player signs it.
You are wrong sir.
It becomes fully guaranteed in July, NOT when the player signs it.

The section in YOUR post that I have highlighted in red means simply. Once Cousins signs it, it becomes guaranteed. The team cant decide to cut him to save cap space. The only way to off that money once he signs the tender is to trade him to another team or if he decides to retire rather than play for the Redskins.
Where are you getting THIS idea from?? The moment he signs the tender it becomes fully guaranteed.
The moment they tag him, even if he doesnt sign it, it counts against our cap until its removed or if he signs and they trade him.
The math simply does not add up.
Now you can swing the Smith trade was mostly business. Tagging Cousins, would be poor management even if you totally discount the pettiness of it.
I mean they could work it out if Smith took a $3M base salary and they back loaded the hell out of his deal. But I dont think any agent in his right mind would advise his client to sign a deal in part or fully designed to try and screw another player over. Not to mention the NFLPA would have serious concerns.
You have the link to the CBA, show me anywhere in it that says that they cannot rescind the FT designation AFTER it is signed.
The section that says once its accepted it becomes guaranteed.
Show me a single instance where a contract was signed and guaranteed salary was later rescinded.
(c) If a player subject to a Franchise Player designation accepts the Required Tender, the resulting Player Contract shall be fully guaranteed if the player’s contract is terminated because of lack of comparative skill; as a result of an injury sustained in the performance of his services under his Player Contract; and/or due to a Club’s determination to create Room for Salary Cap purposes.
The CBA is there to serve as guidelines, it is noted for what's in it, but also by what's NOT covered in it.
OK so show me the section that says a team can simply discard a signed guaranteed contract. Because once the tender is signed, it becomes a guaranteed contract.
I asked you to first to show me where it says that it cannot be rescinded. You can't because there is NO reference to that anywhere in the agreement. This point would go to arbitration and you know this.
However, let's play it YOUR way and Kirk signs the Tag, the club then can trade him from that second on correct? Or the other way, he doesn't sign it, they can rescind it at any point and recoup included cap hits, correct?

Won't be the first time, I'm asking for proof.
Wow, are these guys serious in here??
I honestly think they are hoping Bruce can get something for him AND trade him to the worst possible destination for him to succeed.
We should all be pulling for that to happen. The paramount goal is to improve this team and NOT Kirk Cousins future. He's history in D.C.
BTW: I'm not among those who want him to go where he won't succeed and to be clear the top two places where failure is greatest are Denver and Jacksonville, places where it's SB, SB win or bust.
Thats just it, if they do nothing we already will get something for him. By playing this tag and trade game, we risk getting nothing for him and more importantly waste time and energy that should be being used to improve the team.
They wanted him gone, let him go and stop hoping for that last break up fuck on the way out.
