I love the kid... I think most tigers fan are positive on him... Just need the performance with the bat to stay resonable and he is a keeper

He's hitting .266 as a Tiger, so not tearing it up at the plate like he was in Boston. But we never expected him to be a .300 hitter. With his defense being a major upgrade over Peralta, we can live with .250-.260. And I'd think groundball pitchers like Porcello and Fister want to have his baby.

Well i cant speak for everyone but im a fan as ive always been a huge fan of defense over offense at that position. Also its ok to get emotional, i still get choked up seeing andrew miller in a red sox uniform. Ps do red sox fans hate youkilis? I sure do, and how awesome was it seeing him get his ass whupped by 20 yr old porcello?

He saved two runs with that double play and the momentum of the game never changed. I think Porcello was on the ropes early as his pitches were not getting down in the zone. The kid save him!

Best trade since the Tigers got Cabrera! That kind of defense is special.

And Adam Everett as a Tiger wasn't that good in the field. He was solid but this kid is doing things at SS I have not seen in years.

Garcia was a tough prospect to give up. He was very highly regarded. In hind sight I make that trade every day but at the time I was worried at giving up a potential 5 tool stud.

Keep in mind that it took three teams to make this happen, and the timing was right for all parties involved. This exact same trade doesn't happen on Opening Day. The ChiSox aren't about to give up Peavy at that point, as he was a mainstay in their rotation and optimism was high that the ChiSox would contend for the AL Central. Iglesias didn't become expendable in Boston until they fast-tracked SS Xander Bogaerts through their minor league system and he excelled at every level, including AAA, making him their number 1 prospect by far and putting into question whether Iglesias had any future in Boston. And the Tigers did not have an immediate need for a SS until it was an absolute certainty that Peralta was going to be suspended. Otherwise they can wait until the right deal shows itself later in the season (which is what happened anyway) or after the season when they were going to have to deal with Peralta's free agency.
