I'd like to see us get a few defensive linemen, nose guard type players.

The probably with nose guard type players is they've been landing a lot of DT's in the past two classes so I don't believe they will get one this year unless it's a Rashan Gary type player that you just can't turn down if he wants to go to Notre Dame.

Well, I view OL and DL as two positions you always need to load up on. Too many injuries and attrition, and the truly great teams can control the LOS on both sides. I think RB's are over-valued. A medicore RB behind an AA line is going to do some damage. But you need lots of OL and DL every cycle.

One of ND's Top targets WR McKinley is getting closer. Its looking really good for ND. He will be back for a 3rd time for the USC game. things are looking great for ND.

Another Top player ATH Robertson is really liking ND right now and a lot of experts expect him to pick ND. He is coming for the USC and the banquet. This is GREAT news for ND.

I would like to see more rushing yards from him but the 42 receiving yards is nice.

Im hearing they aren't playing him a lot. They started the season playing weak teams so he has only played 1Q or so. Once their tough games come up he will see the field more.

Recruiting Update:
Big News- DJ Morgan will commit to with in a week. This is a nice pick up.
ND is getting close to flipping USC commit Daelin Hayes.
ND is also close of getting commitment from Aaron Hansford.
4 star CB Donte Vaughn is down to 2 schools ND and Tenn. Most believe its ND here.

ND Class should be getting a lot better with in the next month. IF ND can land these 4 these would all be good gets for ND. ND still has other options with some big name players.

Just read that Daelin Hayes signed his financial aid paperwork with USC today (9/24). In the same article it said he was still planning to take his official visit to ND on 10/17 (USC game) and an official visit to USC on 11/28.

Not sure if this financial aid paperwork is some sort of binding agreement or not, but he was quoted as saying, "I'm ready to get to work with SC."

I'd love to see us stomp SC next month and convince him to change his mind.

Sounds like good news from Hansford and Vaughn.

@purguy12 thanks for the updates.

Everything that ND beat writers are saying is ND camp feels that Hayes will flip. If that is true about the paper work then that isn't a good sign. We will find out soon.

Paperwork is not the end all-be all, but it pretty much means one foot is in the door. We're going to have to continue to win to get kids to buy in.

Basically what it does is makes USC have to stick to the offer and gives them unlimited access to him. If he flips they will get hit with recruiting violations for over contacting a prospect it actually happened to LSU this year you lose evaluation days for recruiting or something it's not a major violation but one none the less.

Who gets hit? ND? Does signing paperwork shield him from other schools? I could be wrong but didn't Tillery submit his paperwork to ND while LSU was still actively recruiting him?
Or was what you're saying that USC gambles by getting unfettered access to him, that retroactively gets put back if he de-commits?

Yes USC would be hit for the following season for over contacting a recruit that didn't end up at the school. The NCAA changed the rule when a Tennessee RB signed paper work with like 30 schools so they could call him all the time. LSU had a player that signed paperwork and then ended up not signing so they got hit with the violations for this year.

Interesting. Kinda hard to fault the school there. But what do I know, I think its easier to pilot a 747 than it is to follow NCAA regs.

It is but the schools know that if the player doesn't end up at their school what could happen and if they do choose to over contact them then they are taking that risk.

St. John Bosco 3-star safety DJ Morgan has committed to ND. Per 24/7 Sports he is the #28 safety in the country. Also had offers from Cal, ASU, Vandy, Nebraska, Northwestern, and others. Apparently he made a silent commitment to the coaches following his visit for the Texas game, but went public today. Picked today to honor his best friend from childhood who was killed after being hit by a car. Today was the best friend's birthday and DJ thought it would be a nice way to honor his friend. DJ is also the cousin of former ND basketball great Skylar Diggins.

GO IRISH!

Nice addition I think they want him to play LB in College or transition to the position kind of like Onwualu.

TE U just added another Top player at this position. 2017 class, ND just got a commit from 4 star TE Cole Kmet. 6-5, 230LBS. Other schools in the running were Mich, OSU and MSU.

ND now has the #1 TE Brock Wright and now added another Top TE in Kmet.

Not completely unexpected as he's been high on Notre Dame for a while now. So far the 2017 class is looking great pretty much all highly rated 4 star guys depending on which site you believe.
