I am hoping we grab a bunch of defensive players this year, but I have a feeling that the 1st or 2nd rounder is going to be Offense - based on nothing but gut and knowing how the Cowboys operate.
I feel the same and keep looking for the O player I'd be content with. I have a feeling it's Wentz or Goff in that order.
Of course that's not Romo friendly, so it could be O in rounds 1 and 2.

You know. I really wouldn't be surprised if they did that.

That could be how they look at this draft. Some say this draft is weak on offense, strong and deep on D. So maybe draft your offense early before they are all gone, and then turn to defense. I don't necessarily agree with that but I can see that side of the argument. If we've done our homework, we are in position to get a top 4 player in this draft from either side of the ball. I won't get pissed if we choose to go that route. Just wouldn't be my approach.

it has gotten to the point where pretty much everything has been said that can be said about the draft. I'd have to be blown away to move outta the 4th pick and that pick very much remains defense for me

I still think butler can make a huge impact with romo at qb. that said twill really not consistent and can see the need to draft a receiver

at #4 I can assure you it will be BPA....which remains PURLY in the eyes of the beholder

Oh I could list 6 guys at least that would fit that description

wont list them but who knows where this draft could go good and bad depending on the eye of the beholder

If Romo stays healthy this year then receiver is not a pressing issue. I think he likes the group we have and last year is tough to gauge considering the terrible QB play overall while Romo was missing. Terrance didn't handle being #1 very well, but he's proven to produce at the #2 spot. He's still very young and needs more time to develop into that type of role. Same goes for Beasley. They wanted him to come out and produce at the #2 receiver but that's just simply not the correct role for him. He's much better out of the slot on 3rd down when we need some big plays across the field. Witten will continue to make plays as he's done his entire career but I do agree his replacement needs to be addressed. I like Escobar, but I'm not really convinced he's the guy to do it after Witten. I really do hope his breakout year comes this year though.
