He isnt a doctor, and shouldnt be talking about a player or team embelleshing an injury following that horrific hit. It isnt his place to make these types of comments and if he does he should answer for it.

I agree with all of this.

I just don't think he needs to fight because he said something really stupid. If that was the case there'd be a fight every two seconds on this board!! :boxing:

Because he's earned it.

He's scored a lot of goals and gotten a lot of assists and has been playing in the league for over 20 years.

This isn't an Avery kinda guy who just smack talks all the time and then refuses to back it up.

He's also not some flash-in-the-pan player who hangs around for a few seasons before being relegated back to the minors forever.

i agree with all this ... he is an old man ... what he said was stupid and the habs players took him to task in their media ... that should have been it ... maybe go at him a bit and hit him hard and talk to him on the ice but to try and fight the guy??? ... wrong target if you ask me ... probably because he was an easy one (ie not Charas size)

That's pretty much it.

He was trying to get Montreal off their game, and they took the bait.

Meanwhile, Chara picks up three assists without anyone really challenging him.

I have no problem with Recchi not fighting, I do not think of him as a fighter and why would he with the score 3-0?

The Habs do not have anyone that can match up with Chara and with all the eyes watching and the warnings given if the Habs did anything iffy at all to Chara and he was hurt at all I am certain there would be a quick response from Colin Campbell. I mean from Campbell's puppet. It doesnt matter anyway, from what I read (I see no reason to watch any of the game) the Habs had no energy to play the game much less try to get Chara.
