I believe you were in the military, and I thank you for your service.

Beyond that, you're a bit of a pompous jackass. I just don't get how you're so sure, based on your individual experience, that thndr's friend didn't get his school paid for by the military? Believe it or not there is a whole world out there that doesn't involve you or your experiences... Muzzer's reality isn't universal to everyone and anyone...

Yes, I am a pompous jackass.....I'm sure thndrs friend didn't get his 5 year Masters degree at UCLA because it doesn't work that way......The Military will give 20 grand and some help along the way....If you opted for it to begin with....

Now if you tell me you can get a Masters degree from UCLA for 20 grand with a strait face then fine.

Deduct the 1200 and the military gave his friend 18,500 for his Masters degree from UCLA......

Good lord if the Military could promise a free Masters degree from UCLA Don't you think you would have joined the military?.......Get real......It never happened and 20 grand probably got a semester or two from UCLA.

But our country already spends more on the military than any nation on Earth. Sorry you and your fellow soldiers don't get more. Ask Roger Goodell for a chunk of his pie. Brain dead ex players got their chunk, it was shitty.

Factually, The U.S. spends more on their military, 53%, than the next eight countries behind them combined, 47%; China, Russia, Saudi Arabia, France, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, India.... saw this graph earlier in the year, when talk of more war possible vs middle east (Iran ?).

when you're looking at top 15 nations military spending in the world, The U.S. spends 36.6% compared to the next 14 at 63.4%. pretty sad financial statistic. 600+ billion a year for the U.S. and the next closest, China at 122 billion.

If that is all Stafford did, can you Imagine what's getting ready to happen in Cleveland with Johnny Football?.....When you hire young immature kids that's the result......Have fun Cleveland .......Us Lions fans are only hoping that Stafford has out grown it? We shall see or does he need to be 30 before this shit stops.

So Stafford isn't allowed to have any fun? This pic was taken in the offseason before his rookie year or the offseason after. 21 and 22 year olds don't just sit and grumble in their rocking chair like a crotchety old man. They have fun and live it up. Doesn't mean Stafford didn't care about his future or team. Here's also what Stafford has done:

Y! SPORTS

Grogan students in Southgate have recess with Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford (SLIDESHOW) - thenewsherald.com

And he has also visited other schools and been a part of other programs. He isn't just out there partying every day.

Oh, and btw, he got engaged this spring to his college sweetheart.

Maybe instead of making jackass statements, u could do some research. But I know you won't, u like to make asinine statements often. I guess that's fun for some.

All I know is my buddy served 6 years, when he came out he got his entire college degree paid for (masters in anthropology) plus 2k a month for a place to live and food to eat.

I will chime in here, as a 19 year vet and a former recruiter for 3 years I will say this is off a bit The military GI Bill maxes at around 19k per school year, or 36 school months (4 x 9 month school years). The current reg sates 100% of in state tuition cost of any institution, it fils to mention that the school must be a yellow ribbon school which means they essentially lower their tuition rate for GI bill personnel.

Yes they have a stipend for books which does change but I know right now is 1k per year, and that is not a lot. Plus a full time student which is about 1400 a month for full time students, but is based on where you currently are enrolled in school. And paid at the BAH rate of a single E-5.

But please note you must take a minimum of 13 college credits per semester to be deemed full time and you must maintain above a "C" in each class taken. Failure to achieve a final grade of a "C" or higher in any class and you will repay the military the full price for that class. and if you drop a class after week 3, maybe 4, you will still pay back the price for that class.

You are not given any food money or any other stipends of any kind.

I really want to teach you a lesson, but you are still too young to receive it......You only comment on my posts when I have something directly to say to you or TP......

Just ignore me. This didn't involve you.

No, I post when I see fit. Your jackass statement about Stafford needed correcting. Anything on this board is fair game son, learn it. Otherwise, write it in your journal during your Wheel of Fortune episode.

This is where I can't help you. This tells me your age....Calling me son, Wheel of Fortune comments......Why did you stop there? Why not the Bob Barker Treatment....How about the Douche old man limp dick Viagra comments?

You will grow up someday.....

And guess what, I will still be here to help you along the way........Berating people on the boards is no way to get other people to converse.

I don't care that we don't converse(lol at u thinking I'm "berating" u). I will however point out when your comments are wrong if I feel the need. You don't run this board. If you don't like my responses, don't reply. I would've figured that in your old age you would've grasped that concept by now. I ignore you 99% of the time, the other 1% I like to chime in for old times sake. Deal with it son.

Don't kid yourself. Without Realist it would be a board of 4-6 people posting and agreeing.....

10-20 guys reading, but not posting.

Boards need the objective view, Well here I am and you don't like it......Tough.

Lol at u thinking being on some "realist team" means anything. This isn't some teenage vampire movie. And you can call yourself whatever you want, doesn't make a difference. Your opinions are rarely truth.

And I don't care if u stay on the board or leave. Your opinions hold very little weight with me.

I don't care what "team" anyone is on. That whole notion is comical and rather immature anyway, IMHO. It's what a poster posts that matters, not their skewed version of an alledged "group".

Well go fuck yourself then if you can't accept a genuine thank you for serving our great country.

If you're really that much of a jack-ass you deserve the miserable dystopia that you've created for yourself. Not all of us are jaded old fuckers who think we're the only ones who "get it" and blame the government for all of our problems...

Maybe we can give thndr a chance to explain the situation before you unequivocally deny what he's saying?

I'm betting he knows his friend's situation better than you do, believe it or not...

But we can't afford to pay teachers, replace failing bridges, or pay the social security benefits back to the elderly who have paid into that system for their whole lives... Awesome budgeting by our "leaders," of whom we pick through the media's popularity contests.

He just contradicted a lot of what you were saying (i.e.- $19,000 per year, not total) and you're replying with an "amen" as if he just proved you right? Dumbass.
