The Mariners are going into the 3 game series with a record of 19-18 (.514), 3.5 games behind the Athletics in the AL West. The Rays are 16-22 (.421) on the year, currently in last place in the AL East.

Probable pitchers:

Monday, May 12:
Felix Hernandez (3-1 52.2 IP 2.73 ERA) vs. Cesar Ramos (1-1 27.1 IP 2.96 ERA)

Tuesday, May 13:
Hisashi Iwakuma (2-0 14.2 IP 2.45 ERA) vs. David Price (3-3 53.2 IP 4.53 ERA)

Wednesday, May 14:
Brandon Maurer (1-1 20.1 IP 6.20 ERA) vs. Jake Odorizzi (1-3 32.2 IP 5.79 ERA)

Hopefully the Mariners can put together some run support for Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma and gain some ground in the AL West.

I really want Felix to get a win today. It feels like it has been awhile for him.

Winning this series would be huge for the Mariners.

Feels like winning the 1st two games is extremely important. I just don't know what you can expect out of Maurer at this point. Hell of a pitching matchup tomorrow. I expect these to be hard fought low scoring games.

What do you expecct out of Maurer? Nothing. He's filler until Paxson gets off the DL or someone better emerges in AAA. He reminds me of Ken Cloude or a right-handed Sterling Hitchcock. Batting practice.

Nice, a lead off guy that can actually hit.

Back to back hits off the highest part of the wall you can hit and not actually get a HR. Never seen that before and will never see that again as long as I live. What a great first inning. 3r on 5h. Now Felix can settle down and find some rhythm.

Man Zunino is going to be a special player. He's already excellent behind the plate and now he's showing us with his bat why we was such a coveted player

Can't find the stat online but I heard on 710 kiro a week or so ago and they said Smoak was in the top 10 in the mlb in hard hit balls. Of those in the top 10 everyone has a very good average except Smoak.

I think that shows that while Smoak may have the same mediocre average...he has definitely done a better job hitting the ball this year. Just some bad luck hitting the ball hard right at the defense

That's game. Not even this cast of relievers could screw it up with Felix on the mound.
