The burden of proof is always on the person making a claim or assumption out of the norm. That would be you.

I do not have to prove anything as it was an opinion and not stated as a fact. You need to understand that. If I stated it as a fact, then I would have to prove it. But since it is my opinion, I don't have to prove anything, because it is just that, an opinion.

You'd figure there has to be proof somewhere, right?

The idea that the NFL did not see that video is pure comedy. It's a multibillion dollar business. They spend excessive amounts of money for their security arm to investigate potential players and potential issues. I suppose the only thing that would stop the proof from emerging is the NFL's deep pockets..... Cover ups are messy though - You'd figure the truth would come out sooner or later.

The cover up might have already started with his denial on that interview. If that's the case it basically comes down to the fact that Goddell couldn't take the criticism for the original suspension he issued to Rice. I'm in a small minority of people who wasn't morally outraged by it. Rice made a terrible mistake and Goddell was too light in his punishment. This wasn't on par with Aaron Hernandez or Joe Paterno. But if Goddell lied about it and is involved in a coverup it shows he lacks the leadership needed to be commissioner.

It's a difficult topic..... Yes, the video is terrible. But, the acts on that video are probably equivalent to the acts of several folks in the league that will be playing this Sunday. You're right though -- If Goodell would have just thrown the book at him this spring this wouldn't be as big an issue. If he suspended him for half of the season, the video would have stung, but it wouldn't have caused the uproar that it did.

Not all opinions are created equal.
