The reaction of the Ravens fans (even some of our old friends over at their other board) is priceless..... Now they're all happy and patting themselves on the back.

Weren't these jackasses giving the dude a standing ovation as recently as 3 weeks ago? The organization applauded him, publicly tweeted his press conference and had one of their employees write a glowing essay about the thug. Now they act like they care? What changed? We already knew the dude punched his girlfriend in the head and knocked her out. We saw him drag her out of an elevator. Now they found morals after seeing this morning's video?

I think the sad part about all of this is, it took the video being leaked by TMZ for all of this to happen. It should have happened, pretty much, anyway.

Maybe the Ravens wouldn't have had to cut him, but he should have been suspended for at least 8 games, or more. Had that occurred right off the bat (or even the full year), much of this wouldn’t have mattered. But, because the NFL screwed up and only gave him 2 games, the Ravens essentially didn't do anything, the outrage over the video opens up the raw wound.

Good point. Had they suspended him 8 games, today's video would have pissed people off, but it probably wouldn't have cost Ray his job.

And this is a team that was already in salary cap hell. Guess we won't be seeing a resurgence of the rats anytime soon.

Well, I am not even sure she pressed charges. She was just his fiance at that time he beat her down. She later on married him, so how sorry for her do you really feel?

Wow! Are you implying that since she stayed in the relationship that she doesn't deserve any sympathy? You do realize that thousands of women silently suffer from domestic violence while maintaining an abusive relationship. There are hundreds of potential psychological reasons this happens - Blaming the victim is ridiculous.

I'll tell you this..... If Ray Rice were a Bengal, our organization would be getting murdered by the media.

Hard to understand how the Ravens franchise isn't getting more criticism. This is the same group of folks that launched a campaign to restore Ray's image. They held a press conference with him and his wife that drastically distorted facts. They live-tweeted this press conference with sound bites making Ray seem like a good dude. They wrote glowing essays about the guy and their head coach said he was an example for children.

Imagine any of that happening with the Brown family? The NFL would have probably just dissolved our franchise.

What Ray Rice did was terrible, but the media coverage of the story and the NFL's punishment seems excessive to me.
