You're just above the middle of the pack for RBs, but vying for the lead at QB - mostly by being higher than most on Rivers and low on Foles and RGIII.

:yahoo:

I knew those two guys would tank a bit this year. Too bad about half of that prediction coming true is because of injury though

Sam pulling away, Joe closing in on Treff for second, and Foot climbing into visibility.

At this point most of the damage by the disappointments has gotten as bad as it can get, and things are reverting to normal otherwise... even McCoy is now top-ten.

After losing his dominant Week 4 lead and eventually falling as low as sixth, TKO has edged into second while Sam still holds a solid lead.

Monkey is graciously coming down to accompany ww.

Getting down to the wire. Sam's holding his lead, and TKO and Treff are neck and neck for second about 15 points behind. A few things could bring Sam within reach of Treff or TKO, but a big part of it would be Romo having a huge week and passing a few QBs (Romo is currently #11 - Sam has him at 10, Treff at 5 and TKO at 7 - Romo getting to 8th would pretty much do it, all other things being equal).

Very, very tight between Sam, Treff and TKO. So close that things like Riddick jumping ahead of Ridley actually swing things one way or another. I'll take some time to make sure I've got it right, but so far it's essentially a dead heat between those three (who, by the way, of everybody this year who played last year, were the lowest three last year).

Final

Romo climbed past Ryan, Tannehill and Rivers to jump from #11 to #8 - and this brought Treff and TKO essentially into a dead heat with Sam. Little differences elsewhere kept giving one or another a slight edge, but Ellington and Joique Bell both dropping a couple of spots brought them close to Treff's picks, giving him a narrow lead, and all the other minor changes farther down the list worked in his favor, giving him almost a 7-point boost which was the only positive outcome on the week (except for a 1-point climb by Foot).

So your 2014 Rankings game champ is Treff.

Treff, Sam and TKO were obviously the class of the group, all finishing within 9 points of each other, while the 4th-place finisher Walter Football was a distant 43 points behind.

uncfan, MilkSpiller, Monkey, dblake and wilwhite were all clearly Not Good, while Foot was in another universe entirely.

I included Alpha Boy (simply ranking in alphabetical order) to illustrate a point: Alpha Boy got about -400 for both RB and QB, which was competitive for RB, but not competitive at all for QB. The point being that QB is significantly more predictable than RB - for whatever that means for your respective drafting strategies. (And no, this isn't an anomaly - as I mentioned back in August about the previous season, arbitrarily listing RBs was just as accurate as RB ADP.)

Ranking and score details to follow.

Okay, Joe mentioned things were slow, so I'll go ahead and get this going again.

As a reminder, Treff won last year by an eyelash over Sam and TKO.

Rank your top 24 QBs and top 36 RBs (standard scoring with 6-pt passing TDs).

Simplifying the points for our game - you get the average weekly FF points of every player you rank, minus the difference between him and whoever actually holds that position.

Example: Forte ended up 4th last year with 14.44 pts per week.
  • If you had him 4th (like Ram did) you'd get the full 14.44
  • If you ranked him too high - say 1st (like TKO did), you'd take away the difference between Forte (14.44) and the actual top RB Murray (17.63). That difference is 3.21, so TKO would have ended up with 11.23 for Forte (14.44-3.21).
  • If you ranked him too low, say 7th (like Milk did), you'd take away the difference between Forte (14.44) and actual #7 Charles (12.31). That difference is 2.13, so Milk would have ended up with 12.31 for Forte (14.44-2.13).
("Per week" means week a player's team plays, regardless of whether he takes the field.)

Note that this especially helps good picks on sleepers. Treff got unfairly dinged for picking Ingram last year because Ingram overperformed (tied for 14th when Treff had him at 34); in this system Treff would have gotten some credit.

Deadline for submissions is August 1.

I like the new scoring system, but is there a minimum/maximum that you can gain or lose on a player...

Those are both determined by the best FF performance at that position. Say the #1 RB manages an insane 25 points per week - that's the maximum you can gain, if you ranked him #1. The worst you could do then is -25, if you had somebody ranked #1 who ended up scoring no points at all. (AP would have given you -16.63 last year because he only scored 8 FF points all year, or .50 per week, and you had him at #1 so it would have been .50-(ABS(.50-17.63)) - but that was kind of a perfect storm.)
