Through Week 7

A rising tide lifts all ships. This tide was Brady (+3 spots), Brees (+3 spots), Charles (+15 spots) and Lacy (+8 spots) restoring a little order to the FF universe.

Average jump was 120 points! Charles alone accounted for 38 to 58 points, depending how high you have him.



And here's a closer view of progress over the last couple of weeks so it's easier to see what's going on. Nice jump by Ram.

In the past four weeks, Sam has gained 145 points on TKO and is now breathing down his neck.

kramer has resumed the QB lead, while Sam and Joe are the only two ahead of ADP at RB.

Through Week 9

Everybody but Foot fell this week, but TKO, Monkey and Bandit fell harder than anyone, leaving Sam on top for the first time this year. Interestingly, Sam, TKO, Treff and Fuzzies were the four worst of us Hoopsters last year and are the four best this year. Conversely, wilwhite who was #1 last year is only saved from being last by Impulse Buyer Foot.

TKO and Bandit both benefited last week from having Big Ben at #10, which is almost exactly where he was. Now that he's jumped up to #4, though, they get zeroes. Obviously they're still doing better on him than guys who had him ranked low, but that advantage has diminished. As compared to other #10s: Foot's doing best with Tannehill (actually #11) and getting 11.25 out of the 10 spot, while Yahoo is doing worst with RGIII and a -40.50.

I should differentiate some of these a little more - you're solidly in the middle of the pack, but you might be confusing yourself with unc. You actually picked up a spot this week because Bandit fell past you like a rock.

Sam is getting some separation, Treff is nipping at TKO's heels, and Monkey is coming down to greet wilwhite (Jennings!). Meanwhile, Foot has almost made it back to the big board.

By the way, I've come up with a much simpler and more representative way to keep score, which we should trot out for future seasons.

(A couple of things bug me about the way we do it now. First is that spot differential doesn't equal FF points differential - give Lacy 14 more FF points and he'd go from 11th to being tied with Ellington at 6th; but if you give Ellington 14 more FF points he doesn't move up at all... so Lacy at #11 is actually closer to the #6 spot than #6 Ellington is to the #5 spot, but we're all being punished for Lacy being "so far away" from a higher spot. Second is that you can actually score worse on a guy like Ingram if you have him at 23 (-1.16) than if you have him at 35 (-0.17) because higher picks have more weight. The new approach fixes both of those, with the added benefit of being much simpler.)
