17. Washington
This is a proud program with a strong tradition that is located in a great city and plays at one of the most picturesque settings in college football. It’s not immune to mediocrity or worse — just look at the stretch from the early 2000s to the mid-2010s — but Washington is a highly desirable job.

Pimping up the Huskies when they're # 17 on this list. Too funny.:pound:

Wonder what the UW job would have ranked after that 0-12 season.

@UCFhonors

You gotta check this list out.

Sounds like an Elite program. They even mentioned our Rise to Prominence (2007-2017)

"The Knights are located in one of the most fertile recruiting areas in the country and have established a winning tradition in recent years. The 25–1 record over the last two years has grabbed the nation’s attention, but UCF has won at least 10 games on four other occasions dating back to 2007. Access to players combined with commitment from the university makes this a premium job."

Almost all of the teams ahead of us have no chance of ever doing what UCF has accomplished.

Your team is ranked 50th. One spot ahead of the CU Buffs.:laugh3:

I didn't read the rest of it, I can't stop laughing right now.

Dipshits need to learn how to read a map. El Paso to Phoenix is 435 miles not 346. (About 350 to Tucson)

But the point is made. El Paso is close to San Diego than Houston.

We're not #1. Poll is garbage.

I was expecting a meeeechegan fan to say that first. I'm a bit disappointed. You guys can say whatever you want though. Clemson is the king of CFB right now.

I don't know that I'd have UGA at #1. To be honest, the reasons they list for it are probably the things that make Texas the best IMO, not to mention the fact that UT has more money than UGA and no state income tax, as well.

still behind a lot of programs that are not elite and yet you think this sounds like an elite program?

You tell em. They never expected the 1 of 7 UTEP fans to read Athlon.

To be called an elite program a team has have several things UCF simply doesn't have.

-legendary coach(es)
-great rivalry or rivalries
-decades of All Americans
-multiple big time bowl wins
-National Championship(s)

Maybe I'm wrong for judging a program by these accomplishments. What do you think?

Thanks for posting this. Alabama at #2 here is good to see. Nick Saban just might be the best coach in college football all time.
