Interesting on both fronts.

I'm surprised the Red Sox would part with 3 young players for Heyward. Does this seem like a lot to you?

I'll readily admit I've not watched Heyward all that much. He is still quite young though and maybe they see a bat which will come into it's own as he matures.

I guess it depends on the players. I would not give up our top 3 for him, but I would like to know what it would take. I think Hayward has not tapped his full potential. I would love to have him in RF next year.

Just FYI.. His WAR is at 6.1. That's with him only having 10 HRs.

That's more than "acceptable" for this few HRs.

Like I said, he's still young - will be 26 next Aug - and it maybe he'll become a 25 HR guy with 85 RBI+ a season. Certainly time for this.

Lord knows, we need someone in RF next season not named Rios.

I think Tepid had a tweet about how to pronounce our new catcher's name. Believe it's toe-mas tuh-lease. Cannot find the exact tweet where he used the phonetic spelling, but I think it's close enough.

I wonder if we could pry Jason Heyward away from ATL in the off-season. He hasn't gotten an ext.

We don't want him. He has loads of potential, but it never materializes. He is a better than avg RF however.

He's a role player at best, he won't fix what ails us IMO...

His defense is good and his OBP is not bad, but he's streaky, and honestly on most days you kind of have a 'meh' feeling about the guy. He's had some injuries too, in fairness, which is why the Braves hang in there with him. I get the same feeling about him as I do about Leonys - flashes of good things, but other days not impressive...

There's so many bullpen arms. Kela deserves it, no doubt, but with Patton coming up I just don't know that there's room.
