It's always "just" inflammation until it isn't. If he goes down for an extended period of time or doesn't return to form, IMO we're pretty screwed.

Listening to Hitzges earlier and he & crew were discussing how many guys we've switched from the BP to starters - Wilson, Ogando, Scheppers, Ross, Feliz - and how it just doesn't seem to be what we do best. Have to agree.

Also, who was it squawking for Yu to finish the game the other night so he could have his first complete game? This after he'd thrown 126 pitches. Well, the Rangers have discussed moving him back a day, possibly two, before his next start. This is why you take him out immediately upon losing the no-no.

Speaking of that - there was a radio show on Saturday discussing how they would have taken Yu out in the 7th.
That a no-no means nothing for the team... that the season rides on Darvish's right arm.. blah blah blah.

They were legitimately upset that Darvish was allowed to pitch 126 pitches in a game that meant nothing/wasnt even close.

I hate Yu threw 126 pitches. Me, you, most probably feel the same. However, it's tough - I mean REALLY tough - to take a guy out, especially considering what happened in his previous bid for a no-no. But, this said, Wash said had Yu walked Ortiz he was going to call JD and discuss the next move. My bet is, they would've yanked him. Just a guess.

I seem to recall two 1 - 0 games the last time these two teams met. And that was here, I recall. I pray we don't have to go through that again.

You never know. The team that I consider to be the best in Ranger history, the 2011 crew, started off the season slow like this too but didn't have near the amount of injuries. I can think of a few other similarities off the top of my head In 2011 we added 2 big new bats- Beltre and Nap compared to Choo and Fielder this year. Also, it seems like it took those guys a little while to gel too but once they did, they were pretty tough to stop.

You compare this team to the 2011 team, and make note....."but didn't have near the injuries." Therefore, there is no on field comparison to be made. If you want to look at conceptually, fine. But the injuries wrecks your analogy in the real world all to hell IMO.

I sure hope you're right. Tell ya what, if all 3 of em can get 7 innings then almost regardless of outcome, then will be something to build on for sure.

But our bats just gotta start and stay a course. It's almost the same thing about our pitching as it is our hitting. Maybe, just maybe, both can get well in Mosquitoville.

I don't want to put too much pressure on one game, but tonight needs to be a good one for us on all fronts.
