I think its a ridiculous assumption that we couldnt compete without EA. I know he's a leader (at least, one of the best we got) but we could get a lot for him... not cuz he's AMAZING, but because he is in the upper echelon of players at a very weak position.

Fuck I want Gausman so bad. I've wanted him since he was in high school in colorado lol. I watched him pitch all the time at LSU. The dude is going to be a stud. He's got so much life on his pitches. He's also got the most likable personality. I truly think he's gonna be a multiple time all star. I think we could get him PLUS others, especially because EA is tied down for awhile. We'd have to eat up some cash but whatevs. Try to get Gausman and Harvey in the same trade and put them both in the rotation next year. I promise you my life savings they will return better results then what we are getting, plus its much more fun to watch a pitcher with a mid to upper 90's fastball then an 87 mph sinker pitcher

You think they would move Hardy? He's a better SS than EA, and better hitter. I guess they could move him to 2B.

IMO Colby Lewis has nothing to be pissed about. He showed he had trouble fielding the bunt. Rasmus was just trying to get on base. If he wasn't yelling at JP the first time then he should have been. It was terrible fielding position by JP at 1B. He might have had him if JP stretches out towards the play.

Apparently Mr Lewis would beg to differ: In the eyes of Colby Lewis, Blue Jays outfielder Colby Rasmus sure could use a lesson in baseball etiquette.

Colby Lewis took exception to a fifth inning bunt by Colby Rasmus during the Rangers-Blue Jays game on Saturday. Lewis felt the bunt single went against basebal etiquette. Lewis, the Rangers' starting pitcher, exchanged words with Rasmus during the fifth inning of Texas' 4-1 loss Saturday. The right-hander was irked when Rasmus laid down a two-out bunt single with the Blue Jays up 2-0 and the Rangers playing the shift.

"I told [Rasmus] I didn't appreciate it," Lewis said, according to MLB.com. "You're up by two runs with two outs and you lay down a bunt. I don't think that's the way the game should be played."

Lewis, who fell to 6-7 with the loss, felt Rasmus' bunt was a selfish act.

"I felt like you have a situation where there is two outs, you're up two runs, you have gotten a hit earlier in the game off me, we are playing the shift, and he laid down a bunt basically simply for average," Lewis said.

On top of the bunt, Lewis said the fact that Rasmus didn't try and steal second base further proved he was just concerned about upping his average.

"[Rasmus] didn't steal within the first two pitches to put himself in scoring position," Lewis said. "That tells me he is solely looking out for himself, and looking out for batting average. And I didn't appreciate it."

After the game, Rasmus said he was trying to help his team and did not understand what Lewis' issue was.

"I'm just trying to help my team and he didn't like it -- so sorry about it," Rasmus said, according to MLB.com. "I'm not here to try to please the other side, I'm here to help my team, and I had an opportunity where I could, and I took advantage of it."

Rasmus went 2 for 4 on the day. He is hitting .223 this season.

Did anyone see Gallo hit a line drive up the middle caught by the pitcher? He then broke his bat over his knee. He broke the handle though.

I read the article on Colby and I just don't think there's that much wrong with it. The guy isn't a great hitter. We had a shift on. We have a pitcher that doesn't move well. If I felt I had a better chance at getting the bunt down I would do the same.

I'm tired of colby lewis man. I swear to god it seems like he bitches about something else after every start. He's turning into mark buerhle except he's much worse. Why don't you go up there and win us some games before complaining?

Do you have any ideas on who the Rangers are targeting?

He did only allow 2 runs in 5 innings. What else do you want from a number 5?

Agree with you Justin. This team is out of control and Colby's action is an example of it.

Longball Lewis shouldn't be on the team next year...... Hopefully. I'm grateful for his playoff success, but he clearly has nothing left in the tank.

My hopes are that Texas won't need him on the team next year. He was not even their 6th or 7th option this year.

I didn't know Tomas Telis was called up to Round Rock. He had a good year as a C at AA. Batted .303. He is playing 1B tonight for the Express.

Adduci and Choice are both 2-4 in the game.

Nathan giving up three run double to Tribe. They'll be calling on Soria. Hold out JD. You got time.

It will be interesting to see how he handles things from this side of the table again. With Street already off the table Detroits options are waning, and they need someone.

Fans booing him and announcers agreed that they cannot stand pat and do nothing in regards to a closer.

Colby needs be quiet. Rasmus did nothing wrong. Baseball etiquette? Give me a break.

And it is real hard to give JPA a hard time about any shortcomings at first. The guy has been playing a very short time at that position. We seem to of had a few of those guys.
